I imagine others have pointed this out already, but... The big guy is Goda, a character who only showed up in the pilot chapter of the manga (back when HnK was going to take place in a regular modern day setting rather than a post apocalyptic wasteland). Although Goda doesn't show up in the serialized manga, he did appear in the anime and his fight is the same as in the pilot chapter.

the same thing occurred with the shin vs balkom episode: the entire fight sequence was taken directly from the manga pilot episode , set in modern times in which kenshiro defeats a gamgst expert in taizani kung fu. Originally it is kenshiro - and not shin- who defeats the character later renamed balkom in the anime (shin's techniques are obviously hokuto based, rather than nanto, and the reason becomes clear only if you know the pilot manga)

Has Ken ever encountered someone who knew who hes was and just answered Kens questions? As in: Goon: "Oh, you are Kenshiro. Current successor of Hokuto shin ken." Kenshiro: "Who are you working for? Tell me and you will live. (Cracks knuckles.)" Goon: "That would be King lord Fist face, admiral-sergeant of mighty kicks style. He is currently located in his mountain fort 5 miles due west. The secret entrance is on the eastern side of the fort, behind the purple shrubbery. This path leads to the main kitchen, adjacent to the throne room." Kenshiro: (Un-cracks knuckles.) Thank you. (Walks away to murder local despot.)

On a few occasions henchmen do indeed offer to lead Kenshiro to their boss. On all 3 occasions I can think of, said boss immediately kills them. The funny thing is that Goda actually has a better reason for acting suicidally dumb than most mooks. It is explained in this episode by some villagers that "Toki" (Ambia) used pressure points to both increase his minions' speed and strength and to destroy their minds, driving them mad with bloodlust. Which honestly made Ken seem kind of like a dick for just killing them all with no hesitation but, well, that's Ken, it's what he does.

On second thought there's also an instance where Ken hits a mook's pressure point and the guy's head starts swelling up like it's about to explode, and asks where to find his boss, Yuda. And surprisingly enough, the mook actually tells him. And... even more surprisingly, Ken actually does reverse the pressure point before the mook explodes, sparing his life. It felt almost out of character.

@@GenesHand Nope, that was Dagarl, this was after Ken and Rei encountered him, in the next episode. It's a generic, nameless bald-headed thug. On re-watching it, he slumps to the ground after giving up the information, so maybe he did actually die and Ken's only mercy was relieving the pain. But, every other time a mook dies from Hokuto Shinken, they explode at least partially. I can't remember even one example of a mook whose death was pressure-point induced leaving an intact corpse.
