The really upsetting theme of Season 4 was that Brandi spent most of it as a nasty drunken train wreck. And to divert from taking accountability for how awful her behaviour was becoming - specifically to Joyce, whom she was unforgivable to - she decided to turn on two people who only seemed to genuinely have affection for her. LVP and Ken were absolutely in the right to pull away for good. Sometimes being around broken people who don’t want to help themselves only ends in hurt.

Well Ken always defended Brandy. He was like her husband as they were close and no one messed with Brandy if Ken could help it. She was his wife's bestie and that was prefect. My good girlfriends husband was like that with me many years ago. He appreciated how I treated her when he was away. To this day, I know if I needed anything he would do everything to help. Even when she and I weren't talking he always spoke positively about me to her and always tried to talk sense into us to repair our friendship. He saw the value and our friendship and I think Ken saw that in Brandy.
