@@BosshogOutlaw-ve1hk From what I understand when he went out on his own to establish an adult career, he distanced himself from everyone in his Nickelodeon past. Dude didn’t even talk to Kel for like over ten years, which he acknowledges in his book. He wanted to become known for more than just being “that kid from the Nick shows.” It was only in the past decade that he decided to embrace that part of his past instead of run away from it; reuniting with Kel, Josh Server, Lori Beth Denberg, etc.

This whole Quiet On Set thing made me realize that two people can have two completely different experiences with the same person. Abusers don't abuse everyone...they target certain people. It's possible for them to be nice and charming with one person and a complete piece of shit to the next. There are plenty of people who think my father is a wonderful person. And he also called me worthless every day of my life and sometimes physically abused me

So true. After my mum dad divorced she really verbally abused me. I am unsure if she was totally aware of it but it was always said I looked just like my dad. At 19 I had a nervous break down & it was as a result of the verbal abuse. In order to save face the narrative was pushed by the family that someone pushed drugs on me which was totally untrue. My mom, my sister and I had the same experience with my dad. Everyone that knows my dad say how amazing he is except us 😂. We know who he really is when the persons he doesn't want to show off are not there. Abusers are not going to abuse everyone. I think for this experience with my dad I had to built up a personality I really don't have, like more serious , straightforward and assertive when I'm actually more shy, sensitive but abusers take advantage of your good qualities.

@excaliber8713 you're absolutely right. It's probably a fear of him not having a steady gig, in my opinion, and what happened with his sitcom a few years back after it got canceled and he fell out with his co-star (also a former _SNL_ cast member) regarding the issue of his ex co-star dating Kenan's ex-wife. Kenan would probably leave when he hits his 25th season or become an executive producer for the show (possibly).

You're right, and he's having to come to terms with the awful reality of a place he had fond memories of. So many other celebrities have taken the approach "well it didn't happen to ME, so I don't believe it happened to anyone else." In a way, I understand what Kenan is feeling. There have been people in my past who I respected and looked up to, but it came out later that they had done horrible things.

The reason Kenan is crying is because Dan Schneider is one of the reasons he got big on Nickelodeon. Dan Schneider and Brain Robbins were both in the audition room when he auditioned for All That. Dan Schneider and Robbins created Good Burger, All That, and was a co-creator of Kenan and Kel. Dan even came up with the line "who loves orange soda, Kel loves Orange soda. All that actor Leon Frierson, (who was in the documentary) said in a recant podcast appearance that behind the scenes Amanda Baynes, Kel Mitchel, and Kenan were the only cast members that frequently talked to and joked with Dan schnider and Brain Roberts. Even Kel Mitchel had brought Dan Schnider as a guest when he was on 2019's dancing with the stars

@@IronAxel6 that changes nothing those perverts did. Keenan remembers it fondly and it hurts him to know what happened to people he cares about. He shows appreciation for where he comes from, but he in NO way endorses or takes up for their monstrous acts. I'm 34 years old now. I like alot of kids from the 90s grew up with All That, Kenan and Kel, Are U Afraid of the Dark basically anything on Nick I would watch because that was the fun of being a kid when you weren't playing outside. Watching Kenan sitting there holding back tears I don't know how he can do that because I was crying right the end of the conversation...so I can only imagine the pain he must have felt hearing all these stories and interviews. and I truly hope that filthy Dan Schneider or any of those sick bastards never work in Hollywood ever again!

Dan Schneider wrote Good Burger and he was in the movie with Kenan and Kel when they were around 19 years old. Brian Peck was also in the movie briefly. They worked together other than one season of All That.

First time seeing the Tamron Hall show, I’ve known the name for a while. If the woman who raised Kenan Thompson loves her, then I absolutely do too.

Keenan is not that funny to me on SNL, he was funniest on Keenan and Kel and goodburger. The sketches on SNL are not very funny. But I'm a child of the 90s, so my taste is different.

He's really funny. The writing has gone down recently but he still the funniest cast member on now that most of the main cast has left.
