The reason your bullets aren’t expanding is probably because of your ammo type if you have polymer tips they focus on penetrating not expanding and if you buy hollow points they focus on expanding not so much on penetrating. Hope that helps and I enjoy watching your videos!

The best line up for guns to use in this game are the 22 hornet for class 1-2, the Solokhin 3-7 and than 7mm. I do however switch out the 7mm for the 300 if I want more stopping power. Another good tip for ya is to use the drilling rifle which is a 5-9 in class and it doubles as a shotgun if you want the best of all worlds. I carry 3 weapons that cover all classes most of the time. Sometimes I will drop the 22 hornet for a crossbow, bow or shotgun if I don't use the drilling rifle.

Strongly disagree. The hornet is good, but is severly lacking rate of fire for class 1 species. Use a .22lr, the .243 ranger, and then, if u wanna go 3 weapons, the 7mm. If you want a better alternative with 4 guns go with either the .308 for rate of fire or the .303 for firepower and the absolutely irreplacable .300, the best gun in the game.

@@DualityofLife I have had no issues with my selection of weapons. Rate of fire is a knit pick when you are hunting at max level. If you are grinding money or levels than you could argue it will save some time to use other options. Rate of fire means nothing for hunting ethically, its not Call of Duty. Also, 4 guns? I never go over 3 because of weight. I don't use backpacks because of weight contributing to making more noise. That and I always carry a tent.

@@Something-Somes Your tent is what takes your space. I do hunt irl, and Im max level. I have well over 2500 hours in the game and have used every weapon in the game, a lot. Apart from the .45 (.410 birdshot). I shot one thing with it and never touched it again. The hornet is not nearly at the power level of the .22lr. 10 shots in no time at all, accuracy, rate of fire for things like birds where u want it, are insanely important. Also, fire rate certainly is important. In the game, if you have the chance to take two animals, you take two animals. Its not very realistic, but it is how to play the game. For things like that, the .308 over the Solokhin every day. Apart from that, most class 4 deer drop on the spot with the .308 and almost all of them with the .303, while with the Solokin, they run. A faster kill is a less painful kill, making it more ethical to hunt with these weapons, to use your own argument against you.

@@DualityofLife Rate of fire has no impact on how fast or painful animals deaths are. And I am not arguing anything. Use what you want idgaf. Clearly you are a gun enthusiast and want to use more than you need. I have all the time in the world to play the game and could care less on how many animals I take down at one event or situation. Also I have been playing since release as well...no need to wave around shlongs here. I can drop animals fine with the weapons I suggested. Also, I carry the tent because it allows me to change my loadout on the fly without having to fast travel to a cabin.

However, the solokhin rifle that you suggested in your original comment will drop animals slower than the rifle I suggested, completely different from the rate of fire factor. The tent carrying is interesting, just because I have my tents down already. Apart from that, your original comment, if I may recall, suggested that these are the best rifles to carry around with, which I strongly disagree with. Nothing against your personal preferences, however you cannot argue about what the best weapons are if you use your own preferencial set of weapons exclusively. Enjoy your hunts man, hope youll love every minute of them!

It's a good gun, but the long-range drop off hurts it bad. The modeled gun in the game has more drop off than it should, which hurts it storied accuracy. I don't use this weapon in-game much, but the 7mm Malmer is go-to for tiers 4-9. That gun just flat out slaps.

As long as you zero properly and hit vitals, the Tsurugi .338 is a great gun. You can quickly delete a Buffalo needzone in no time. It’s my main “big boy” weapon. And like anything else, if you don’t zero properly and/or take shots when the animal is moving or at a strange angle, you’re probably not going to have great success unless you get lucky.

M1's are very cheap rifles they are not that expensive irl, the most valuable gun in the selection is the double rifle, aka the 470DB aka 470 Nitro Express. Elephant Rifles are all custom hand made the wood carvings are all hand done and usually by masters of there craft. No 2 are alike, these guns are often displayed on walls in cases rather than used to hunt. Though they are exceptionally powerful and pack one hell of a punch. The ammo for any Nitro Express is usually very expensive also, especially the case for the 700NE where the ammo is no longer produced and each round is a reload usually over $100 a round irl.

If you hit your shots with that gun you can do a lot of damage, coming from someone that has a lot of experience but never used the gun and believes it is the most powerful in the game shows how good it can be, I personally use the bolt action 7mm because of its versatility over classes 4-9 and still having power and accuracy Edit: Also try it again and try to take better shots if you wait for a good shot and hit it in the vitals any animal will go down right away if you high a pronghorn in the lung with that gun it will drop immediately

Great gun. U need to realize that if you are going to kill any animal with any gun, u have to hit the vitals. A massive gun will not kill a small animal if u hit it anywhere. Basically ur giving excuses for bad aim.
