I had the lap band installed 13 years ago. I had to have surgery to have it removed because it was adhering to my other organs. The surgeon was able to scrape it off. I lost weight at first when I got the lap band then gained it all back. Food would get stuck in the tiny hole that was my stomach. I threw up constantly to dislodge the food and ruined my teeth. So I had to have them all capped. I have been on keto then carnivore for a year and have gone from 220 to 147 and still losing. I tell everyone DO NOT GET ANY KIND OF WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY! YOU WILL REGRET IT!

2nd time on carnivore - 1s time I lost 105 pounds after being a prisoner of my own home while recovering from a combat blast in Afghanistan in 2014 - I was much better and then I suffered 2 more concussions ( 13 total in my 53 years ) & hurt my back and gained over 100 back . Then I had a Dr at U of Missouri tell me he couldn’t do surgery because I was too fat and I needed fat loss surgery so I could have back surgery. I looked at him like he was crazy & said F that . That week I went carnivore again in July . As of today I’ve lost 88 pounds doing that intermittent fasting & walking the past 3 months. Folks my body and brain are beat to no end , I’ve got ptsd from 9 years in the Middle East in combat , and if I can do it you can . Carnivore, walking , and intermittent fasting have saved my life .

Dr. Berry provided practical and scientific insights into the "Proper Human Diet" to improve health. Key points include: Prioritizing Meat and Eggs: Advocates for fatty meats and eggs (especially yolks) while avoiding sugar, grains, and starchy foods. Low-carb vegetables should be cooked to reduce inflammation risks. Understanding Fat and Cholesterol: Cholesterol does not harm kidney function; carbohydrates are the main culprit. Red meat and saturated fats are safe and essential for good health. Supporting Chronic Conditions: Keto and carnivore diets help manage diabetes, improve kidney function, and support brain recovery after injury. These diets can be an alternative to weight-loss surgery, reducing the risk of relapse. Debunking Nutritional Myths: Disputes claims like "alkaline water benefits health" or "plants reduce inflammation." Phytochemicals in plants can cause harm for many individuals. Practical Applications: These diets help reduce visceral fat, boost male hormones, and enhance breast milk quality during nursing. Emphasizes that pets (cats and dogs) require a meat-based diet, not grains. This Q&A session offered actionable, science-backed guidance to promote natural and sustainable health improvements.

Introduction and Objectives (00:02-00:41) Dr. Berry emphasizes discussing a "Proper Human Diet" to tackle obesity, visceral fat, and other health issues. He encourages questions from viewers and offers to answer them in a broad manner to help a wider audience. Key Diet Recommendations (01:19-03:49) Advocates for a diet high in fatty meats and eggs (with yolks). Advises avoiding sugars, grains (e.g., wheat, rice, oats), and starchy vegetables (e.g., potatoes). Recommends cooking vegetables to minimize inflammation from plant phytochemicals. Common Myths and Misinformation (01:55-06:45) Challenges widely held misconceptions about health and nutrition taught by media or tradition. Discredits the idea of eating egg whites only, promoting yolks for their nutrient density. Highlights issues with sugar alcohols like allulose, noting potential benefits and side effects. Health Conditions and Specific Queries (04:23-09:50) Answers questions on conditions like hyperthyroidism, blood sugar fluctuations, and gray hair reversal. Suggests practical dietary adjustments, such as moving gradually to keto or carnivore diets for bariatric surgery patients. On Concussion Recovery and Ketosis (11:13-11:45) Suggests that nutrient-dense, anti-inflammatory diets (keto, ketovore, or carnivore) are ideal for brain healing. Explains how carnivore diets naturally induce ketosis without requiring blood ketone monitoring. Pet Nutrition and Misconceptions (25:54-27:10) Emphasizes that cats are obligate carnivores and dogs are facultative carnivores, advocating meat-based diets for pets. Criticizes the use of dairy and grain-based diets for animals. On Sugar Addiction and Processed Foods (44:33-45:40) Discusses sugar and processed food addiction as real phenomena. Notes recent acknowledgment of ultra-processed food addiction by health authorities. Cancer and Chronic Conditions (42:42-43:55) Advises against drastic procedures like radical prostatectomy unless all other options are exhausted. Promotes meat-heavy diets to support overall health and mitigate chronic conditions like kidney disease. Breastfeeding and Keto (1:01:27-1:02:32) Endorses keto and carnivore diets for nursing mothers to produce nutrient-rich breast milk, while advising against fasting during breastfeeding. Closing Remarks (1:02:32-1:03:01) Encourages viewers to adopt a proper human diet and join his community for additional support and Q&A sessions. Offers free resources like a "Proper Human Diet Guide Book."

Most humans can keep their lactose tolerance if they maintain milk consuption throughout their childhood, into adulthood. There is no mandated position where one day you can digest, and the next day you cannot. Your body is smarter than that. Dairy is protective (heart disease) and if you can keep up your consumption it is a real asset in older age. Always include fermented dairy and all the benefits of the only "complete food" nature provides is yours. Dairy is also a key source of C15 the newly discovered essential fatty acid.

Speaking of dogs...There is a Native American creation story that goes: "In the beginning humans and animals were together. One day the earth started to split in two. The humans stayed on one side and the animals stayed on the other side. As the earth was still splitting, at the very last moment, dogs jumped over to the human side."

Hi Dr Berry, I have been about 98% carnivore for 10 months. Dealt with super high oxalates from too much plant-based seed and nut protein for many years. I did experience cloudy urine when dumping oxalates, my practitioner early on said it also could be from high protein. I've heard both that you can't have too much protein and that you have to be careful with your fat protein ratio. I still get very milky cloudy urine occasionally it seems especially after a big steak or ground beef meal in the evening Your thoughts? I'm a 71-year-old woman, very active and doing all I can to reverse the metabolic consequences of believing and eating according to the lies and advice of status quo and plant-based beliefs.

In responses to Dr Berry's comment at 19:30 "3 weeks you should be insulin sensitive" ? I'm going into my 7th month carnivore, and my blood pressure is still high and seems to verge more on high side recently and sugar fairly stable at 6.5 for 9 years. Blood pressure taking reading every day usually twice. And on average, I'd say from 126 - 145 / 80's but as high as 150, 164. Stopped Metformin at least a year ago and Losartan and Astrostatin 7 months ago. Age 75/weight 152.
@ForUsNaturals18 минут бұрын
Maybe you’re eating too much protein and not enough fat. Your body can make carbs (glucose) from protein if it needs to. Upping fat will stop you from running on carbs and get you into consistent ketosis. Have you tried this already?

Seeking answers/suggestions, please and thank you. Missed this earlier. Been on keto since June 2024. I started this for memory and to eliminate, or at least delay dementia/alzheimers (runs in the family). Keto has been a Huge Success! Observed an obvious, measureable improvement in memory and thought processing. The weight loss was a bonus (didn't care, wasn't the goal, pleasant side effect). Did my homework, learned as much as I could, found keto recipes for the foods I was sure I would miss (potholes and landmines). I've lost close to 50 pounds in the past 6 months, down two pants sizes. My question is, how do I modify my diet if I become too thin? Is there such a thing? A balance point? Do I need to modify my diet to not become skin and bones? I do not want to, I will not, consume carbs that turn to sugars in my body and risk continued damage to my brain. I do a modified and careful hormone replacement, Pauling therapy for tissue regeneration/support, vitamin and supplement support (part of Pauling), stay hydrated (target: 1 gallon of water/day) and my keto is primarily unprocessed meats, eggs, cheeses, with some processed meats and lots of no carb low-carb veggies. I try to keep daily carb intake at + - 30 grams per day. Sugar and carbs are poison to my brain. I need to find a balance. Thanks so much!

Dr Berry, I have been doing intermittent fasting since Aug 2024. I mix it up 16-8, 18-6, 20-4 a few 36 hours and a couple 5 day water fast. Just finish my 2nd 5 day water fast. I use Celtic salt, Magnesium, B complex & apple cider vinegar during these fast. My blood sugar went fron 10-15mmol down to 4.7-6mmol. Triglyceride went from 5.3 down to 1.4. Mainly eat eggs, avocado, chicken, mix steam vegetables with butter. Some Sauerkraut, yogurt plain and some salad. Went from 225 down to 201 today. But my cholesterol double and I can't seem to get my blood pressure below 130/85. It's been between 130-160 over 82-93. Any suggestions? I am type 2 diabetic with a heart attack 18 years ago. No issue since the stent. I am 5 feet 6 inches tall.

What do you think of my crazy (some would think) meal I eat almost daily.. 6 days a week then I treat myself to a steak (has to be rib-eye bone in!) and shrimp or like this weekend I will be roasting a chicken loaded with butter. Anyway I fry up a pack of bacon and I steam baby brussels sprouts (the only veg I eat) and also cook 4 eggs. I put the sprouts in a bowl and pour in the bacon grease from the pan and then add a big slice of butter. The brussels sprouts absorb almost all the grease and butter and explode in your mouth.. little butter balls ! And that's been my almost daily meal for almost 3 years now ! And I still love it ! Can't get enough actually lol. I went from 250++ lbs. to 170 lbs. in about 10 months and stayed at that weight to date. Male 5'11" 50's I do OMAD and can easily go the 20 hours I do every day. I'm a telecommunications tech I climb telephone poles and I've never had so much energy.. It's a power trip ! Blood work done recently.. All excellent.. but my cholesterol was a little high ! Gee I thought to myself.. I wonder why.. Chuckle! The lifestyle has become addicting to me.. No looking back.. Getting close to 4 years for me now.. Quit seed oils, sugar drinks, margarine, processed foods, carbs., sugar.. Been watching you for 4 years now too.. !! God bless and Merry Christmas !

Please advise if I need to do something else, so afraid that my gut will not heal because it is irritated and bloated most of the time.. I mostly eat meat and eggs and bone broth....

I respect Dr. Berry's reason for not always being completely truthful about veggies (sometimes he is, moreso when his wife is not online with him). His advice will still make you healthy in comparison to the standard American diet, yes, absolutely. However, Dr. Anthony Chaffee on YT gives the FULL TRUTH with all of his extensive research/evidence to back it up. If you want complete full health, maybe listen to both docs and make up your mind about fruits and veggies. Eat them if you choose to, that's each person's personal decision - but please do not believe that you "need" them, for anything. There is ever-increasing evidence that the less you have of those, all the way to ZERO, the healthier you are and thereby the better you feel. That's because we have a species-specific diet. Do more research and do not believe only one viewpoint.

It’s ok. I did the same. 10 weeks, 70 days into carnivore, lost 40 lbs. Fell off Thanksgiving and turned into 11 days of excuses. Put back on 15 lbs. Got right back on Carnivore Monday. Don’t beat yourself up. Just a hiccup in the long run. Get right back on Carnivore now or tomorrow morning. You are great!

Do not eat carbs. No need to ever. There are no essential carbohydrates. Glucose is really important - so important that your liver makes exaclty what you need, in exactly the right amount that your body needs it - no more no less.

Dr. Berry do you think carnivore diet can help heal my lichen planus? I’m five days on the carnivore and the chronic itching is 75%-80% gone. I hope it can get rid of the lesions.

why are there some tomatoes in the picture on the first page of the proper human diet (PHD) guidebook? That does not seem right to me.

I was strictly Carnivore for 18 months and my blood pressure did not go down, it actually went up! I am on 100mg of Losartan and recently my Dr. started me on .1mg of Clonidine HCL for when my blood pressure won't go below 160. Now since that had little effect she changed it to daily. I had quadruple bypass surgery 3 months ago so went off Carnivore but now I am back on it with a little Baby spinach, bell pepper and tomatoes. NO DRESSING. WHAT am I doing wrong?! My blood pressure is consistently between 150 and 170 bottom number is 78 to 83. PLEASE help me!

Will be starting carnivore Jan 2. I cannot tolerate eggs, they give me severe gut issues within 30 minutes of eating. Any suggestions? TIA

You don’t have to eat eggs. I hated them for all my life (except those in cake 😂), yet here I am. Lately I have developed a taste for them, scrambled only so far.

I think my question disappeared but it was what is the best way to diagnose of a fatty liver a CT scan or blood work? MY doctor said to stay away from meat because my ferritin levels were too high even though all the rest of my labs were great. Also can having high ferritin cause side effects?

Thyroid issues. Ive been on Levothyroxine for last 25 years. I’ve been told it will be life long and I can never come off it. However I hear by going carnivore I maybe able to come off it, but how will I know if carnivore is reversing it as I take the medication daily????
