I have been binge watching kendo videos since I started practicing it 1 month ago, so far my sensei did not tell me about tsuki being dangerous to perform, although I am very far away from getting my bogu so I can compete.

Kendo tournaments often prohibit players under the age of 15 from tsuki（thrusting）.
