the red guy making a mistake, his shinai is poked and stucked at the red guy's body and the red guy had to change his hand to escape the situation, this happens in training alot. but the white guy is making a deadly mistake, that they are not in practice, but in a real competition, so they must have zanshin to be highly alert at all time until shimpan announced Yameh to restart the fight, so technically they are still in fight, the white guy could have take the point when the red guy were bowing or showing sorry to his opponent, but he didnt take that advantage, instead he just stroke off the red guy' sword as a remind / warning : this is a fight, not training! do not do that silly move unless the shimpan raise their flag to restart the fight! i would say the white guy is very fair and honest man to give a chance to his opponent.

Nice video and mostly good Kendo, as expected from police Taikai. But 2:57 and 3:10 is not good. Shinai drop is questionable. Judo throw using foot - is simply NOT Kendo.

+VT Kendo Shiai in police taikais has specific rules. I might be mistaken, but I think foot sweeps are allowed.

It's police kendo. It's allowed to throw using foot.

Go watch what the imperial army used to do when practicing kendo. It was more akin to modern day HEMA than anything else. There are variations of rules that allow for pushing and shoving but I wonder if there is also one for foot sweeps?
