Can you catch the Chinese spoken by native speakers? The Chinese you will learn in this video is at HSK level 1-4, but when native speakers speak, it can be surprisingly difficult to understand. Try again and again until you can understand them all!
The recording will be played four times in total. First, it will be played twice at natural speed, and you can guess what the recording is about. Then the recording will be played twice in an easy-to-understand speech, and the subtitles will be displayed on the screen, so you can check the answers.

Only the IMPORTANT syllables’re pronounced with the “correct “ tones.The others are REDUCED. Slow the whole thing DOWN to 0.5 ‘n’ you’ll HEAR it.

Hopefully, any sensible, considerate Chinese person trying to talk to you WILL speak at a slower speed and won’t slur syllables or mumble, once they realize you are struggling to understand them. IMO, a beginner is wasting time trying to understand fast/local speed speaking. Learn basic sentence construction, word order, tones and tone changes, idioms, and a zillion other things before trying to understand fast talking. At least this vid uses human speakers-some of these vids use robotic voices that sound choppy and cut off the beginning and end. So at least this is better than those.
