The gag would be that Kendrick never intended on performing NLU at the Super Bowl.. Meanwhile, Aubrey frantically destroys his career with all his antics to try to stop it 😂 . Kendrick: think I'll do the song now‼️🤣

Yeah, I don’t think Kendrick was ever planning to perform that song anyway, since networks work hard to avoid those FCC fines by keeping performances and language clean. That word in the song, “PDF file,” probably would have kept it off the setlist regardless. Plus, the response deadline isn’t even set until after the Super Bowl airs, so I don’t see the point of the lawsuit. Even before it got extended to March, it was still scheduled for the Monday or Tuesday after the Super Bowl. So, I don’t get how it would’ve stopped anything, considering the deadline from a response is afterwards. The fans will sing it with just playing a snippet of the beat.

I don’t know if he will perform NLU. What I do know is. If that KZbin short I saw last night is from the real NFL’s KZbin channel, under a comment pinned by the NFL, the NFL channel commented, “Alexa, play NLU”. I took a screenshot of the comment.

I love that you're doing long-form here. Been a big fan of your TikToks, love to hear your thoughts on things. EDIT: I just wanna say, if Kendrick is trying to make the performance about a political message, Not Like Us still absolutely fits. I think it still puts off a certain message surrounding the new administration and the horrific weirdos they are (there's plenty of guys similar to Drake being nominated to roles). So I wouldn't say particularly that playing it would distract from a potential overall universal theme that he's trying to get through with the performance and could actually reinforce it. Extra EDIT: I put that in before I saw the end of the video. I appreciate you talking about that. The core part of revolution is community, it's joy, it's love. I was just recently making a joke to some of my soccer friends that "The only true way to revolt against patriarchal white-supremacist facism is the free beers in the parking lot before we go watch our favorite team get pummeled." We should be fighting for joy and in order to do that, we need to find that joy first. And a Kendrick halftime show doesn't hurt that.

My prediction (and hope) is that the marching “soldiers” are a reference to Tyler, The Creator’s Chromokopia aesthetic. Also, the closing song in the ad is Hey Now, and Tyler just dropped a huge freestyle over the beat. SZA was also in the ad, but Kendrick was talking to someone on the phone (another guest besides SZA?). My other prediction is that he will play NLU but use a marching band to change it enough to be a legally gray area, but the audience knows exactly what he’s doing. Regardless, I really hope he brings out Tyler because for as much as I love Kendrick, Tyler’s stage presence and art direction is on another level. The combo of the two would be so epic. ETA: Tyler was also REAL quick to comment on the latest halftime show ad.
