Kendrick has the highest grossing tour for a headlining rapper. He's a massive artist. Him headlining the Super Bowl isn't shocking. He has a massive worldwide fanbase that he's gained over a decade. Yes he doesn't make mainstream radio music for the most part, but he has a flawless diverse discography so it would be possible for him to form a setlist for the Super Bowl. Not saying this about Kevin or Angel, just people in general who a lot of them are Drake fans have been downplaying Kendrick's popularity acting like no one listens to him when Good Kid Maad City is still charting for more than 600 weeks.

This is a PRIME example why they don't take black people serious as a collective! Y'all in a UPROAR because Kendrick Lamar, a social conscious rapper with 17 Grammys, a Pulitzer Prize winner, who received a EMMY for his 2022 SB halftime performance was picked to headline the 2025 SB halftime show instead of a drugged out gangster rapper who doesn't even believe racism exist! Let that sink in!! This is down right embarrassing! And I will say it for the hundredth time we as black people are our own worst enemy!
@jearleanpaul19103 ай бұрын
It's Absolutely correct. Kendrick is still the Headliner in NOLA Superbowl 2025. Get over it because it's going to happen. Have a Wayne and friends concert ( like Kendrick and friends " pop out concert ") to honor Wayne. Why haven't NOLA did it before now.

This ain't about catalog or who from where. Some people think Wayne is greater than Kendrick legacy wise that's down to opinion. What cannot be argued is what Kendrick Lamar turns into when he gets up on that damn stage. Kendrick Lamar is the Michael Jackson of Hip Hop when it comes to live performances noone touches him. He has a long resume of delivering breathtaking and iconic stage performances and the fact that he has the hottest rap song in the world right now and is in such high demand makes the decision EASY for Jay Z to make. He's tried and proven on the big stage and he's the hottest rapper in the world. If you're going to make it the first time any rapper has solo performed at the SuperBowl you're going to go with someone who will respresent Hip Hop well who will showcase that it is more than just rapping over a beat. Noone does it better than Kendrick.

I think it could be culture. Like the LA performance had west coast feel through one in Miami had a Latin feel etc. So maybe people are mad that there is not a new Orleans feel
@premiumnegro3 ай бұрын
No shit. But the whole point is the reason why Jayz wanted to be a part of the decision making process is to be more socially aware and to give the people what they want. His campaign as to why they should have black people part of the decision making process is, so you don't hire kendrick lamar to perform when you could have lil wayne in New Orleans, which is what the people would rather see. The point is, we thought, jay z being who he is would understand this.

He was asked in 2020 and 21 so Kendrick doing the bowl 🏈before him…🤷🏽♀️ Furthermore, I love Wayne, but just because you’re from a particular city doesn’t mean you automatically should take center stage. It’s always been the hottest artist of that year that get asked or chosen to do award shows and the like. It made sense for Usher to do the Super Bowl last year because of all the hype surrounding his Las Vegas residency. Usher was pulling them in…all sorts of celebrities went to Las Vegas to see him perform. Kendrick not only made one of the hottest songs of the year, but he also did something on Juneteenth for the city of Los Angeles and the culture that not many entertainers could achieve. It’s clear that he embodies a spirit that resonates with the people. ✨💯
