My interpretation of the video at first watch. DNA the biological element that genetically links us not only as relatives but in a broader sense can be our race. In this case the black man. One of the things we struggle with is coming together as a people one being loyalty a tradition that many other races especially those who have either migrated or have been displaced or challenged negatively by a dominant race have been able to maintain as a part of preserving themselves, their traditions and culture. So in this scene where Don Cheadle (a black man who is working with the system which usually oppresses many black men i.e. law enforcement) is about to perform a lie detector test on his "brother" Kendrick who is a symbol of the many black men who often get no fair and equal justice. However when he begins the test he is directly affected and suddenly starts speaking K-lams truth. Why? DNA He is forced to see and experience what Kendrick is experiencing his black brother. It can be seen as a commentary of the struggle of the race without us coming together we will always be the same place. Here the DNA acts as a greater power one that can be so great if we could just live as brothers to fight the injustices of the system if we can look beyond the fools gold they dangle that makes us destroy each other. The retort can be seen as Kendrick's feelings toward this dude who betrays his fellow brother as a law enforcement officer etc. He is asking why you a sell out? I have royalty in my blood, etc as should you so why you being a bitch of the system which reduces your historic royalty and destroys your own ... I will have to watch over several times to have a more concise interpretation .. Interpretation of scene before he walks out a free man.
