One more take 1. Kendrick says “Shoo” 6 times 2. Follows with “Bee” 6 times 3. He ends a bar with “OK” 6 times 4. He ends another bar with “Huh” 6 times 5. When talking about Drake’s parenting, he ends with “Know Nothin’ ‘’bout that” yet again 6 times 6. “Croadie” is used as a punchline....6 TIMES Repetitions of 6 sprinkled throughout the track 6 times for the Canadian from the 6 who refers to himself as "6 god." 5:44 This part has a triple entendre. On the surface level meaning which everyone will usually get but skim over. He is saying that everyone wants to act like they’re a a gangster until they get shot and killed with a throw away. A throw away in the streets is a gun that is used to commit a murder and gets disposed of which is why it’s called a throw away. The second meaning Future’s middle name is “Demun” and he also has a song called “Throw Away”. In Drake’s diss song 50 push-ups he said “don’t make me bring the demon out”. Kendrick is saying when Drake puts on his gangster tough guy act. That’s him imitating and acting like Future saying he wants to be Future. Which plays even more into him dissecting Drake’s character as fake and a chameleon. Because ever since Drake reached out to Future his entire lane of music changed to tough, gangster, mob boss talk. He emphasizes on it more later in the track by saying he likes Drake with the melodies he doesn’t like Drake when acts tough. The third meaning he is saying Drake only acts and says he’s a demon until he gets hit lyrically with a throw away. Which would be his verse on Future’s “Like That” song. Then Drake sent a cease and desist letter on that song. So he could get it blocked from radio play Kendrick addresses it later on in the song.

So many good bars: - “F*ck all that Pushin P, let’s see you Pusha T” (Drake never responded to Pusha T’s Adidon diss) - He says he’ll come with “3 switches” in ‘Like That’, the beat switches 3 times here. - The ending of the first part confirms “The Heart Part IV” was about Drake (people thought it was between Drake and Big Sean), he uses the same bar. - “Ain’t 20v1, it’s 1v20 if I gotta smack everybody that write with you” (ghostwriter allegations) - Bar about raising his son since Pusha had to expose him into even recognising his son - Bar about “Private Island” and “Pacifier” in relation to Drake’s underage allegations - Alleges Drake has snitched so much it would make Gunna look like a saint - Responds to 50% given to Top Dawg allegations by saying Drake has to split his royalties with 4 bosses before he takes a piece - Calls him a culture vulture and says he’s entire personality is fake and still cringe - Best of all: Makes fun of the Toronto accent

The “everybody wanna be a demon ‘til they get chipped by your throwaway” is alluding the line prior which claims Drake makes his people “sell their soul.” He’s calling Drake the Devil (alluding to him signing artists to his record label OVO, presumably to bad deals) and his artists/cliche/followers are “demons.” He’s specifically referencing artists like PartyNextDoor and ILoveMakonnen who made hit songs just for Drake to hop on them as a feature and wash them so badly that they disappeared into irrelevance (basically Drake is deceiving them into signing with him just to use them and/or steal their best material). Although, Come and See Me and Tuesday became hit songs for those artists, they are ultimately throwaways in Drakes catalog. Since ILoveMakonnen and PND are signed to OVO, Drake now reaps all the benefits from their music. (He’s been criticised for not marketing his artists which plays into the idea that he uses them and throws them away after). I actually think this is one of the best bars on the song and it went over everyone’s heads.

Getting killed for being on demon time is definitely one of the meanings and it goes to his general critique of Drake playing tough and playing into all the "mob talk" etc., in a lot of organized crime traditions (not just Italian), wild card types get killed for being arrogant, doing too much, and thinking they are untouchable @vukosibaloyi

"You gon make a ni**a bring back back puff, lemme see if Chubbs really crash sum." I love that line lol. Its well known that Diddy smacked Drake some years ago at a party which resulted in a scuffle. Chubbs is one of Drake's closest friends and right hand man/muscle (Drake has made several references to Chubbs and his alleged street activities in his music, most notably on his most recent projects) Kendrick is basically saying "lemme see if you and your crew is really bout it."

In regards to the "everybody wanna be demon til they get chipped" bar ... straight from genius below. It's a BAR for sure. Future’s middle name is “Demun” - Here Kendrick is implying that Drake wanted to be future until he got hurt (chipped) by one of Future’s old hoes (throwaway). This is one of the main reasons that sparked the Drake/Future beef, and was even somewhat revealed on Drake’s For All The Dogs track “What Would Pluto Do”, unbeknownst to the rap world at that time. This is also a reference to Future’s song “Throw Away”. Kendrick is also saying that Drake is a demon until he was “chipped” by one of Kendrick’s throwaway verses, or a verse that Kendrick really didn’t care much about, such as his verse on “Like That”. Drake ironically also had a song called “Demons” on his 2020 throwaway mixtape Dark Lane Demo Tapes
