The reason people say Drake doesn't have classics is because it's a debate amongst critics (look at his album reviews) where when it comes to Kendrick Lemar's albums critics instantly labled them classics. Which is why he win a Pulitzer prize.

The lyrics are incorrect, it’s not “back to back I like that record”, it’s “back to back I lyt that record” Daylyt has come out as the ghostwriter for that track. Kdot made a reference to this in Like That when he said “your best track is a Lyt pack”

Your generation keeps confusing hits with classics. Classic is something that you don't even have to think about. Does Tupac have a classic? Does Snoop have a classic? Does Eminem have a classic? Now how long did it take you to think about the classic song from each one of those artists I just named? Not long I'm sure! If you have to think about it that means they don't. And Drake hits can't even be considered borderline classics, because he has ghostwriters. Back to back wasn't even written by him. DayLyt roll back to back diss to meek Mill. So yeah music is subjective, but like other things in life those things I mentioned also play parts in the decision.

I'm 37 and I agree to the extent that not writing your own shit should disqualify you as an artist. But it won't disqualify your music because a "classic" is timeless, *meaning it transcends generations* - it's why anyone can appreciate a Queen song. Yet since you brought up Tupac and Snoop, I'd like to point out that many of their classics aren't particularly deep, they're just bangers. Tupac has had collaboratively written tracks and Snoop allegedly has had some music done with ghostwriters. So this weak-ass "your generation" shit is just a broad generalisation that fails to account for the diversity and nuance within any generation. Dipshits who can't sustain their points (like my dad) use this tired cliché in an attempt to win arguments instead of having meaningful debate. As for Drake, well, I never liked him and I've never tried listening to any of his albums. I also don't particularly like Jay Z. Yet I consider Pound Cake a classic.
