No one is hating. He never came for Diddy or Jay-z who liked and has had young girls and boys! And the crowd reciting those lyrics with Jay-z there amidst the allegations was weird on two fronts. They were probably hollywood weirdos in that audience that is what he accused Drake of and the "they" he is talking about in the song are them. Did Kendrick sell his soul. Lucian Grange, the same man who was backing Drake is now backing Kendrick now. He was in the audience high-fiving Drake. Is it ok now that it is Kendric?. And that Beyonce grammy was a make up from last year. If anyone one else have made that speech like Jay did and the next year their wife got it what would be said. She has had better Albums. I have not cared about a rap beef since the deaths of the Goats 2pac and Biggie. Jay has screwed over many black artists and so has his wife. So let's not change the narrative because you like them. I criticize people I might like when they are in the wrong. When this Kendrick diss Drake train ends, then what? Every song he does now ppl are listening for a Drake diss. The song was mid to me. I am not a big fan of either of them.

Also not you sort of making it seem like Taylor is a drunk just because she loves to dance at all the events and so happens to have pictures of her holding a glass 🍷 I'm not a Swiftie, but in her defense, I will say there's nothing serious but rather her having just simply a really good time! 💜 Congratulations to all the black talent! We shined so bright the other night 💯🔥🎵🏆🖤

Dang Empressive, I'm so glad you posted, but a bit disappointed on your opinion. Drake isn't a baby, he threw those stones first, and couldn't handle them being thrown back. He thought he had the one up on Kendrick when he mentioned his wife and kids, he didn't expect that man to completely dismantle him piece by piece. Kendrick deserves everything he's getting, bc if the shoes were on the other foot, Drake would be walking around like he's God. Everybody would be kissing his 🍑, he'd be "for the culture" downnnnnn. He lost a rap battle, it's ok to let him sit in that. If he wanted to battle, he would've got back in that booth.

Kendrick Lamar deserved every Grammy he won. He has 22 Grammys total at this point because he’s a great artist, an amazing writer who he puts out great music as well as classic albums. Also, Billie Eilish already won an Album of the Year Grammy in 2020 for her album “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go,” so she was emotional and happy for Beyoncé knowing she had finally won an AOTY after all these years. Billie and Sabrina are good, but they only serve a certain type of audience. Also if Taylor swift can get album of the year for her basic music. So can cowboy Carter. The whole album spoke for itself. Beyonce didn’t need music videos and press to promote the album and look how impactful it was.

I believe this year was a redemption arc for the Grammy organization. The voters were righting the wrongs of the previous award shows, especially for these three artists : _The Weekend _ Kendrick Lamar _Beyonce The Weekend has won a few Grammys , but he has also boycotted the award show. A couple of years ago, he had one of the biggest songs of the year, but wasn't even nominated. Therefore, he simply stopped submitting his work for consideration (Frank Ocean did the exact same thing). It isn't by accident that the head of the organization spoke before his performance. The man then stated the Grammys have revamped and diversified their membership Regarding Kendrick, The Grammys screwed up more than once in his case. On his first studio album, K dot loses Best new artist and RAP album to Maclemore . When he released his critically acclaimed sophomore effort To Pimp A Butterfly , he loses AOTY to Taylor Swift and loses SOTY to Ed Sherron. Kendrick basically won in almost every RAP category that year. What's even worse is what happened with the third album DAMN . Kendrick Lamar became the 1st rapper to win a Pulitzer Prize. He wins in the RAP categories (as usual ) at the Grammys, but loses AOTY again and to Bruno's 24K Magic 😒🤦♂. Bruno Mars also won ROTY and SOTY. The outcome was met with a lot of controversy. The next 2 albums weren't Major General category worthy, so winning only in the RAP categories makes sense. However, the Grammys finally did right by Kendrick with the Record and Song of the year awards. It may be a diss track, but there is more to the song then that. All of the elements of that song works. It was the most streamed song of 2024 and remains a staple in pop culture. The dig at Drake was just the icing on the cake lol. Finally, there is Beyonce. She was nominated for the 5th time in the Album of the Year category. Let's go back to the beginning, I Am...Sasha Fierce. She lost to Taylor Swift's Fearless in 2010. I have no problems with that. For nomination # 2 , it was for the Self Titled project (where were you guys when that digital dropped?). I really thought she was going to win that year, but they awarded Beck instead. That album was bland and boring, and not Beck's best work. Now, we are moving on to nomination # 3, the loss that is still talked about today LEMONADE. In retrospect, I am not surprised Adele won for 25. The lead single HELLO and the album's critical and commercial success were unmatched during that time. Lemonade couldn't even sweep in the genre specific categories. It only won 2 awards that night. Nomination # 4 is the RENAISSANCE album. Beyonce scored her 1st number single BREAK MY SOUL in a very long time. It was a mainstream and critical success. She once again was nominated for multiple Grammys. However, I wasn't shocked when she lost in the major categories again. It is rare for DANCE/ELECTRONICA to win in those fields. Therefore , the Grammy voters gravitated to the other mainstream album of that year HARRY STYLES. Finally, we are back to the present with COWBOY CARTER. Beyonce engaging in different genres, isn't anything new. However, she received a lot of backlash for this project. But then again, we shouldn't be surprised. Do you guys remember when she performed at the CMAs with the Dixie chicks?! Did you pay attention to the audience facial expression? Beyonce submitted that track to the Grammy Country committee and it was rejected. Just last year, Cowboy Carter received 0 nominations at the CMAs. Many of the country music outlets refused to play her songs as well. Therefore, Beyonce winning best Country album and Album of the Year was poetic justice. Many entertainers like Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Jelly Roll, Madonna, Justin Timberlake and Post Malone have switched or tried different music genres. None of them received any backlash. However, Beyonce is supposed to "stay in her lane"? COWBOY CARTER isn't the best album of her career , but it isn't a mediocre project either. It is ambitious, and has great storytelling. I'm also glad people will realize Black folk have always contributed to Country and America music.

I can’t believe people don’t see the value in Cowboy Carter, I think it’s Beyonce most vulnerable album yet.
@loranhunt99467 күн бұрын
I strongly feel people don't see the value because it's country-inspired. And the county music scene is very WHITE! Beyoncé core fans are black for the most part. And most black people don't listen to country. And it's too black for most white people to stomach. But there's soooo much value in this album. It's a really great in my opinion but people will feel how they feel because of the alleged genre it's considered to be.
@ThatGworlDre7 күн бұрын
@ I think you’re right. It’s easily top three, the production is insane, guess you gotta be a bit of a sentimental person to feel it, in my opinion. A lot of lemonade was country inspired… a lot of people don’t lie Ren cause it’s house inspired… which was #1 for me… R&B Beyonce is not top for me, her musicality has range!

@@Pisces808 we don’t want to miss her, it’s boring when she’s not dropping. But that’s also false. She’s been dropping back to back as she promised apart of her music exploration act 1,2,3. @@MsStaceyBHe was being disrespectful behind the scenes to his peers, the stuff he was saying & business moves he made against others, not just Kendrick. Kendrick is the leader of those beefing with Drake, the others include ASAP Rocky, Rick Ross, The Weekend, Future, Metro Boomin & DJ Mustard.
@AusarisTV6 күн бұрын
@@MsStaceyBThey fell out because of Kendrick’s verse on Big Sean’s song “Control” where Kendrick basically acknowledged all his peers (J. Cole, 2 Chainz, ASAP Rocky, Drake, Big Sean, Jay Electronica, a few others I’m forgetting) as friendly competition but also said that he wanted to beat them all in the rap game. Drake sensitive ass was the only one who legit got offended and started sneak dissing Kendrick for years and so from 2013 to 2023 they would throw some subtle jabs at each other in various hit songs from their albums. “Supposedly” Drake had wanted Kendrick to hop on First Person Shooter with him and J. Cole but Kendrick declined because he felt like he and Drake still had some shit to talk about and address with their behind the scenes beef do to all the years of Drake acting like a hoe ass nigga basically, and in typical Drake fashion he took that personal. When J. Cole had made that Big 3 line in First Person Shooter (at this point, J. Cole and Kendrick’s relationship had strained) Kendrick bounced out on Like That with Future and Metro Boomin and he dissed both J. Cole and Drake. “Supposedly” (take this with a grain of salt) Drake had called Kendrick and the two had a conversation about Kendrick’s verse on Like That and Kendrick basically told Drake to get out of his feelings and if he had a problem, they could hash it out on wax. Drake allegedly sent a cease and desist for Like That and an unreleased song with French Montana that he wasn’t able to put out so other rappers started calling out Drake (Future, Metro Boomin, The Weeknd, Rick Ross, ASAP Rocky, French Montana) but Drake was mainly taunting Kendrick. Then “supposedly” (again, take this with a grain of salt) Kendrick and Drake spoke on the phone again and Kendrick allegedly asked Drake if he was sure he wanted to battle him and Drake said he wanted all the smoke, and Kendrick basically said your funeral. J. Cole dissed Kendrick on 7 Minute Drill but “allegedly” shortly afterwards Punch from TDE had either called or ran into J. Cole and the two had a conversation and Punch basically told Cole that it was deeper than rap beef between Kendrick and Drake, and that it was about to get serious and both them dudes was gone take they bars way below the belt and get hella personal, which supposedly prompted Cole to delete his diss and apologize to Kendrick. Drake dropped Push Ups and Taylor Made Freestyle shortly after that and the rest is history. A lot of what I said is speculation, this is what I’ve heard from people who I know on a personal level who are in TDE’s circle (I’m a music producer from South Central LA and a lot of us in the LA rap scene out here know each other, it’s a small ass circle) but it’s still a whole lotta he say she say.

Did Jay Z pressure the voters? That’s a stupid question. Beyoncé been in the game for years and did not need Jay’s assistance to win AOTY. She crafted an album as a tribute to the black experience, in regard to country and Americana music.
