you're referring to rage or hunter adrenaline. either work. personally, i have two builds. one leans on rage, the other leans on archon flow to keep my energy up. the rage build also has Enraged, so i hit absurdly hard, at the trade-off of i can't just hold it indefinitely. the second is a channel build that can hold just about indefinitely (and is actually indefinite during archon hunts, where sentient cores refill energy) but doesn't actually one-shot steel path grineer.

The damage that slips past Nezha's hula hoop isn't a weakness. It means he's always got a little room on his health bar to pick up orbs, which his 2 provides in ample supply. And that means he can make use of the magic cheese mod, Health Conversion.

I do like the magic cheese mod. But it is pretty important to know that high enough enemy levels could potentially 1 shot Nezha with just 10% of their total damage output by mistake

nidus just need his 3rd skill to get 95% resistance(making his enemies tanking for him) and he has extra lives and high regen the main hard thing to survive is stacking mutation when your allies kill the enemies faster than you are able to hit them

I would argue that Rhino isnt a great Tank frame as he doesnt have a multiplier on his iron skin unlike Nezha so unless you the augment for rhinos charge you often only get as much iron skin as the enemy can shoot off you in 2-3 seconds (in high level missions)

not to mention Hildryn's 3 helps her teammates become more tanky too, and her 2 cleanses her teammates too. 6300 shields (overshield) + 2 and 3 is heaven (revenant at 1 is an interesting one)

Nezha not only has Status immunity along side 90%, but has invencibility on cast, plus invencibility when its get outs(plus CC) allowing for a easy recast.

I know this is a rather specific setup, but I'd like to mention this. Mr. Inaros with adaptation, arcane grace, and magus repair on the operator, is a stop playing and go make a sandwich setup. 🥪 He'll still be there when you're done.

@@talkingbirb2808 I use him steel path, all content. 2 builds that work fantastic. 1) high efficiency + high strength + adaptation + Gloom (on #1) with this basically low incoming damage and 2 sources of heal plus reduced enemy attack speed. 2) Streamline + long range + Adaptation. The idea is to use grass quite a bit as damage mitigation due to radiation. also works well but not as directly tanky. Both builds also use heal + armour buff on constantly.

So long as you're still here when it happens, for sure! I was going to make Rhino 1, until I tried a different build for Revenant. Rhino is nice and all, but his iron skin scales with incoming damage and, outside of augments, doesn't have a refresh which can be annoying. Revenant just blocks the attack, no matter how big the hit gets. That plus built in self heal means he wins me over. (I'm totally not biased by the laser party 4th ability) As for Nyx, Assimilate doesn't increase the tankiness, only makes her mobile while using it, so I've not missed a tank option there :)

Players can compensate her slow movement her ability on, with really fast melee weapons so that she is always meleeing to get around. It can be considered tanky since she literally takes no damage. Energy also stops being an issue with the help of operator mode and the focus schools but it still comes with its downsides. Revenant cannot utilize shield gating and can easily die in a high level mission after taking a few hits even when modded properly. The biggest risk comes from recasting its mesmer skin. The advantage that Rhino has is that it can allow itself to run out of Iron Skin and take a hit and become immune for 1 second allowing you to recast and absorb damage to add to your iron skin health for 3 seconds. In the time his iron skin runs out again, the cool down for the shield gating will already be done. If I remember correctly, Revenant still takes damage from status procs and he can be staggered. Mesmer Skin prevents Revenant's health from reaching below 2, preventing him from dying but he still takes damage from Explosive Barrels and Environmental Hazards, although they will not use up a charge. Those 18 charges run out fast by the way. Although, players can compensate his vulnerability while recasting his mesmer skin by using the Rolling Guard mod. Rhino on the other hand is literally immune to status procs, staggers, and all environmental hazards when his iron skin is on. He will not take damage to his health or be affected by procs like slash, toxin, viral, or blast. If you want I can taxi you to Steel Path Mot so you can see how well Revenant stacks up against Rhino when they are both really pushed to their limits if you are still not convinced.

While the assimilate mod provides a quality of life, it's still not adding to the tank already provided by the ability which is why I made no extra reference to it aside from her moment in the montage. Revenant does benefit from shield gating though, not sure where you've got the idea otherwise from. In that sense he still has the same recasting window as Rhino. I'm plenty familiar with the charges running down but the fact that the charges are regardless of damage amount means even a big hit out of nowhere has just the same impact. Throw in free thralls and recharging the charges through reave or recasting mesmer skin, having those charges run out is difficult in my experience unless you completely lack energy. The remaining damage that can seep onto Revenant is small enough and sparse enough that his innate ability to restore himself completely negates it. Still, the top tanks are very much a preference thing. If you prefer a hitpoint style tank to a charge based tank then Rhino would suit better. My assessment is the other way around.

Great vid, although Protea should be higher ranked than Hildryn. Proteas 1st ability, which was never mentioned, is one of the strongest and easiest tanking abilities in the game and has nearly infinite scaling. (I’d give her a spot right under Trinity, personally)

Vazarin Guardian Shell can absorb damage for 4 seconds and works as an Iron skin. Gara has a Healing augment that was recently buffed.

@@CrisHermetica I know this is old but imo nidus's 2 is better for damage than his 1. Grouping up enemies has much more potential than his 1 which goes to 20,200 damage that's modifiable by strength.

If "tanking" means withstanding all types of damage for a prolonged period of time, STACKED UP Nidus is by far the most tanky frame. You can engage an army of steel path enemies without giving ground and still remain at full health. And the crucial skills don't even use energy which means you can still stand tall like a mountain even on missions with energy penalties. If "tanking" means manipulating aggro and evading/blocking life or death situations resulting in the survival of the squad, then opinions might vary.

Hildryn should be much higher. She is practically invincible if you put Energy Siphon on her, due to how her passive works. The only trade off you have is Energy Leech eximi and Toxin damage, the latter of which can be negated with Overshields

Possibly? I mean, Limbo is if anything better at locking down locations, with the limitation that he's got to recast occasionally. Octavia is respectable at the job too, as is Gara. But there's a handful of frames that are real good at protecting specific locations, and Frost goes on that list, even if he's not a top-end tank.

Surprised that Atlas did not make it to the main list. His main tanking capability comes from total invulnerability durin Landslide cast. And you do that almost 100% of the time. It is really hard to die as long as you keep punching. Knockdowm immunity and rubble passives are amazing but are not main source for his survivability.

It's all well and good protecting yourself but a tank that can't draw aggro is not a tank, just tanky. You protect a lot of things in this game (rescue targets, excavators, defense, mobile defense, sabatoge in some cases, interceptions to an extent, disruptions etc). All that defense means nothing if you're not the one enemies are shooting at

After playing atlas, not getting staggered by anything is, as if you would just ragdoll 24/7 through the whole map if the attacks literally come from everywhere. Ofc, I wouldn't run him without adaptation and reduced debuff duration on stupid enemy procs.

Auberon's heal is so bugged or my internet was just destoying the maths on him and therefore his healing never seemed to come out right on neither myself nor allies - Tenno or otherwise. I had been doing Auberon Prime for years, before switching to Wukong Prime and I miss him.

Well even if Chroma can have a huge amount of armor, his hp bar is not that high even with his 2. And to be honest 90% damage reduction is a lot better that tons of armor in this game. Higher than that and Chroma is pretty much a crapy tank, not to mention that the best thing that Chroma can do is killing big guys. Don't get me wrong, i love him, but he's not even close to frames like Nidus, Trinity or Revenant in terms of tanking.
