I contacted them and got this bs “After thorough review from our engineering team, we’ve concluded that this crash falls outside the scope of our warranty, and we aren't able to cover a replacement. PowertechDiesel how is it your fault? Can you elaborate? I was flying the drone with the beacon in a huge field on my mountain bike like 5 mph with sufficient light and the drone flew into a power line.. if it can’t even avoid obstacles at such low speed, why would we even bother to get it right?

Thanks for your thoughts on the skydio I am still testing mine out hopefully I will have good weather to do more testing with it. Definitely a different and uncomfortable feeling after flying things that you have control over. The Skydio definitely has a mind of its own

The one thing I can say is there is a learning curve using it of your use to dji drones. The beacon isn't intuitive as I'd expected.

Great video here Ken, Good Ole Undependable & Unreliable aka The Skydio2 did better than I expected, At 3:55 it looked like it was headed off to do it's own thing and then recovered. I expected it to keep going like I've seen it do so many times in other video's, So I was surprised that it did not. Maybe it's getting some of the bugs out by now and becoming a more dependable & reliable aircraft. Maybe I'll have to stop calling it (Good Ole Undependable & Unreliable) Thanks for sharing and dang that really sucks about the camera, I know that's been one of your favorites for a long time.

The Skydio isn't perfect, but pretty incredible nonetheless. Footage will no doubt become more cinematic with the Skydio 3. Indeed, the Sony RX100 Mark VI is a very nice vlogging camera. I sent it off to be repaired.

I think I was sold on the Skydio 2 when you were riding the bike and finding out it does fantastic forward flips with just the slightest help from a wire ! 😂 Ouch on the camera mishap , I'll bet your buddy just felt horrible . I guess I never thought about it , can you get accident insurance for cameras ? Or would the cost be worth it ? Guess you can tell I'm not a camera guy ..... come to think of it , what did I do with my flash bulbs ?? 😁

Nothing worse than an accident between friends that results in broken toyZ. It’s just stuff and stuff vacant be replaced. The SKYDIO probably had trouble tracking the dark object on the dark surface in the poor light.😎

When I sent my DJI Inspire 1 Pro in for repair, they fixed it. I even asked for a new one (becasue it took 6 weeks while they waited for a part) and they refused and still sent me my same drone back.. Which, in my opinion is better than new since they fully tested it before sending it back.

Skydio offers free replacements if you manage to crash it for any reason. Maybe try that Ken?

Unfortunately they offer no such warranty mate. There are many disclaimers to let them worm their way out of the "Crash-less Drone". Wires such as Ken hit are one of them. Have a look on their site and read up on it, many people are seeing this isn't the Drone they thought it was and just watching this video you can see it was a bunch of hype and doesn't really deliver as some thought. Still good for what it does, so I'm not knocking it by any means, but it and the warranty are far from perfect as some seem to have bought into. Have a good one.

Ken, just a heads up. The Skydio 2 can only track; people, vehicles, not pets or animals. I small RC car isn't going to track well with the Skdyio 2. More info. on page 10 of the SKYDIO 2 user manual in case anyone's looking for it. The AI (artificial intelligence) in this drone is probably tuned to track things like people, bikes, cars, motorcycles, etc. Looks like you were off to a rough start with that first flight on your Skydio 2. Also, looks like SKYDIO 2 manufacturing is currently shut down with everything going on right now.

Little tip to avoid tripod tragedy...add weight under it to make it more stable but not sure it will have made the difference with this big truck hitting it! Feeling your pain😔

I like that you disabled comments from the crash video. You should know better than to fly around power lines. Hell, even Skydio's safe flying guidelines say not to fly around thin objects, such as wires... As for THIS video, yes, that RC truck is too small to track. Skydio 2 tracks people and cars/trucks. Lastly, and this is coming from a previous Phantom 4 Pro and Mavic Air owner, Skydio 2 flies great! You can adjust the sensitivity settings so it doesn't feel sluggish, like what Ken was saying...

in regards to your comment about sending in a DJI drone and getting a new one back I beg to differ. I sent in my phantom 3on three separate occasions in each time they sent it back torn apart worse than the time before. That's why I switched to Autel. I will never buy another DJI product again. their customer service was the worst thing I've ever experienced in my 50 years on this planet. Talking to people in China when my drone is sitting in California and the two never communicate. What kind of way is that to run a company?sorry for the rant but I just couldn't stomach your comment on getting a new DJI product. I still love you though!

Ken Heron Thanks for the info Ken, I reached out to them again today and hopefully they will honor the warranty... they state that you shouldn’t fly the drone around power line and small tree branches which is ridiculous because I’m getting the drone for its auto flying capability so I can take it on biking trails lol and according to them, flying around trees may void warranty -_-

I'm I'd want it but, I'll tell you in addition to flying my Air I have 3 Arrma Trucks. One out of the box goes 70+, with the 20 tooth Pinion it hits 80+ no problem. Got it a couple time and you learn very fast. The other 2 trucks due 50- out of the box. I also fly a Apprentens 59MM Plane. I love that we have a Group that meets during theS THrough the fall. It's at our maned tower Airport. Nice little corner by the Hangers. Airport Manager gives us permission That Infraction Oscar has hits 80+ out of the box and you can also do burnouts and seriously destroy those Hoons just holding on and letting the Tires spin. I do like just about all RC Stuff but only battery powered. I don't like playing with Nitro. Maybe it's just me with the Skydio and I think it's because my lifestyle is not the outdoor.

Unless it’s a new insert on the skydio Manual.... the Manual says that power lines, cables are a no go and to not fly it around those obstacles.
