I had to speed up to the ending because I didn’t have time right now to finish but I want to say thank you for FINALLY making rocks make sense. For YEARS!! I have tried to get them right along w the water around them but never could get a handle on it. I will return to this video when I have brush in hand. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You’re a wonderful teacher, like a shepherd explaining to sheep how to do the hardest things. And the stickies? Genius teacher move, like a wonderful father.

Very tastful, harmonically colours and forms. The warm brown with the clear cool blue, beautyful combination and one of my favourites. This video, Your painting is in my head similar with The Bolero , of Maurice Ravel. I can feel the growing of Your inspiration. The touch of illustration and imagination is such the magic in this painting. Thanks for sharing! Kind regards from Germany, Carola

Seeing you fling your brushes onto the desk makes me laugh because I do that too and then scold myself "what are you doing! Stop being rude to your tools." but I get it, we are caught up in the timing and drying and just need to drop that brush and grab the next one. I love this tutorial, I had to add it to my playlist. Can I ask what paper you used. You mentioned that lifting on Arches is difficult and that is so true. And Arches cold press is predominately what i have
@KenHobson5 ай бұрын
Go to Jerry’s Artarama Fabriano Studio Fat Watercolor cold press pad 9x12 140 pound 60 sheet
@KenHobson5 ай бұрын
The paper I have listed I have students get because it has cotton in it & it’s easier to pull out color. For my own paintings I use rough and cold papers in blocks. You can pull out color on Arches if you have a stiff flat brush. Just scrub & tap it with a paper towel. Hope this helps Ken

Hi JC, I’m using Fabriano, 140 lbs 9” x 12”, 25% cotton, 60 sheet pad. I use this for classes because of cost! I use 140, 100 rag Arches for personal work. 👍
Brilliant tutorial, thank you so much. I’ve just realised that I paint rocks top to bottom and how stupid I’ve been. No wonder I couldn’t retain the top lights!

Hi Cj, I used FABRIANO 140 lbs, 25% cotton, 9” x 12” pad (60 sheets per pad). Paper that is 100% rag is much more difficult to pull up color! Thanks, Ken
