this is terrible, if every one of Sony's first party games are coming to PC in a matter of time... cheaper, not requiring online subscription for multiplayer and with the absolute best quality possible, what is the reason to purchase the console itself? i hope they know that these moves will be very detrimental to their hardware business.

Sony ROIC 4, UMG 19, MSFT 26, NFLX 16, ASML 26. Sony has some wonderful business inside it but the group as a whole is too distracted and mediocre across the board. Break it up, bring back focus, efficiency and shareholder returns will follow.

I cannot agree more. I personally always loved playstation since the 1st version and I am discouraged to invest in Sony since its so bloated with random stuff. Its like Tencent/Apple/Samsung are already being best than Sony in all the rest except Games. Why cant they just stay with gaming which are incredible

I hope they find ways to reduce these insane software costs and stabilize the AAA gaming. I feel like AI may part of a solution, but the core comes down to better management practices in my opinion. I really like your first party games, my family and I enjoy them....but if they cost like 200-300 million dollars, i find that unsustainable for PlayStation as whole. I can only hope they find some innovative solutions to this problem.

lord, make this man retire before he kills PlayStation entirely, so Nintendo is the place to go for exclusive games, how pathetic has PlayStation become? Cloud Gaming will NEVER be the standard for gaming, Subscriptions will NEVER be the standard for gaming, you can't compare a music subscription with songs of 3 minutes and TV/Movies subscription with 1 hour episodes of TV Shows and 2 hours of Movies with a game like God Of War with over 50 hours of content, this will NEVER work, it's way more enticing for people to buy the individual title and play it slowly instead of paying monthly to RENT it, what he calls "expansion" for PC, SPECIALLY PC, will be the death of PlayStation consoles.

this man is destroying PlayStation with PC releases, Nintendo is really the future of gaming, sad to see cause i had so much trust in the PlayStation brand, they fell for Microsoft's trap of PC releases and the only reason they didn't fell for day and date with subscription services is because they can't afford it, i always viewed and respected Sony as the Apple of gaming, but putting your software on other devices like PC makes me want to ignore more and more the "core product" they call PlayStation, the future of PlayStation consoles is nebulous to say the least

you have no idea what you are talking about. Nintendo the future of gaming? haha... yeah sure. With Mario Kart? Man for real, just go and buy yourself a Nintendo Switch, play for a few months and you will see you are talking non-sense.

Very worrying to hear him talking about PC and cloud and "being everywhere"... It really shows that he doesn't understand PlayStation gamers and he doesn't see the damage that putting games on pc did to Xbox , which is now selling less than ever globally.....they basically have a hardware collapse. The pc ports so far have been very disappointing for sales and resulted in people pirating the games and lower launch quality...more bugs. PlayStation fans want fully exclusive games and a very strong platform based only on home console. Streaming has been attempted for 15 years and failed every time , even by Google and Amazon that have server farms operating anyway....while Sony does not. Ken seems clueless and his moves have been extremely irritating to PlayStation customers. He is lucky that there was massive goodwill built up from previous leaders at PlayStation. He better be careful or his biggest failure will be running PlayStation and Sony gaming into the ground. Stop the pc ports l, forget about cloud except as a compliment for console owners to access when they absolutely need to away from home.

When PlayStation gamers move to pc, they will use steam to buy their multiplatform games, they will not need to pay psplus for online play and PlayStation will sell far less software. Nintendo know that opening a platform leads to a decline and everyone can see what happened to Xbox after they opened their platform.... Their console sales collapsed.
@masterofIich
@masterofIich Жыл бұрын
PlayStation as a brand is much stronger than Xbox and makes better games. With Xbox leaving consoles they will be the only destination for high end games natively on a machine for under 1000$. They need to be careful not destroying their identity tho. Theirs single player games won’t make them rich on PC or mobile anyway. They need the GAAS type of games for that.

It is completely wrong to assume that Sony will go down directly 1:1 the road Microsoft did. Playstation Portal Demand shows that People want the flexibility to play wherever they want and i certainly dont think that Sony will start neglecting their console branch.

@Sabundy
@Sabundy 10 ай бұрын
The only cope is from you. After all the PS5 is the fastest selling console in history. While the Xbox is being outsold in 2024 by the almost 8 year old Switch. Now that's funny. Xbox is a failure. They have never managed to beat either PlayStation or Nintendo. They are a very distant third. So the only cope is coming from the loser. Why would the highly successful brands need to cope? Also, you are cherry picking. Either you are being deliberately intellectually dishonest or you are not very intelligent. PS plus will most likely move onto many other platforms. But it's also been made clear that it won't be doing Xboxs dumb mistake of having new games released on it. Which of course made game pass full of shovel ware because it's nothing more than a cheap platform with the least valuable game library. And by doing what Xbox did they took away ALL reason for anyone to ever buy an Xbox. While PlayStation at least understands they still need to give people reasons to buy the console. And it's also hilarious how you just avoid mentioning Microsoft paying billions for Activision with the purpose being to have exclusives. But didn't ol Phil say that exclusives are bad and the wrong strategy? Except that Xbox sales are so bad that they now want to put their exclusives on PlayStation and Nintendo. Now why is that? Because they can't sell enough games because the Xbox users base is so small. So they know they could sell more games on the two far larger platforms. Which means it's Xbox becoming the new Sega. Now that's funny. That's what you should be laughing your ass about. But somehow in your mind it's Sony that will become the new Sega 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Xbox= loser.

Sony has no interest in releasing its AAA single-player Day One games on PC, since the aim is to sell PS5s and generate maximum profits from the PS5 store. Once sales drop off sharply, the game is released on PC. On the other hand, for service games, it's a different story: it's more profitable to release them Day One on PS5 and PC.
