The real hero here is the drummer. The drums are so intense, I never realized how powerful they were while I was watching the movie.

At 6:22, I think this quote describes Batou feelings perfectly: Let teachers and philosophers brood over questions of reality and illusion. I know this: if life is illusion, then I am no less an illusion, and being thus, the illusion is real to me. I live, I burn with life, I love, I slay, and am content. Motoko & Batou, a perfect team.

"Please let the dawn be waiting in the underworld." "Please let the dawn be waiting in the underworld." The blossoms beseech the gods, "Even though in this world we may know grief and suffering, Our dreams shall never die," and they fall from the branch in anger. And they fall from the branch in anger. In the sad perpetual darkness of a hundred nights They pray to the gods of the land for the egg of the next world to be born.

I have no idea where this musical piece is from, but I sense a strong feeling of loss, resulting in an inner conflict and battle. Can you guys help me out and tell me whether I'm interpreting it correctly or not?

It's from ghost in the Shell 2 ; innocence and that's pretty much the theme of the music for the entire film

Yes, you are right. The song plays most fully during the festival of puppets, and it is a majestic parade including battle scenes. "all the world is a stage", control, fate. At the end, they burn the dolls, presumably to release the spirits. In the commentary track it's interesting that they say you aren't supposed to anthropomorphize the dolls, but that's precisely what the movie is about. The dolls didn't want to be human, and humans don't want to be dolls. Infusing and transferring souls is a violent process. This is the process of humans as they build society, that perhaps as coral reefs are giant temples to the virility of life and the beauty of creation, are akin to our greatest cities. The tone is much more positive in terms of society, whereas the predecessor showed modern technology to be vain, hollow, and soulless. I'm not going to moralize the actions that people take to reduce souls to samples and ruthlessly experiment to discover the precise makeup of what a "consciousness" is. The process is absolutely beautiful. Tragedy is the way humans connect to one another. Love is born from an aversion to pain and loneliness, so those things are necessary Indeed, the concept that souls spawn naturally in our work is the telos of Ghost in the Shell. It's the promise of high technology, to force the universe's hand and demand that we will not be alone in the universe!

The composer is kenji Kawai, it's from a Japanese anime that is about a dystopian future where humans are largely cyberised and becomes my less human as we speak, but it's protagonist is solving mind-crimes by hackers that plant false memories into cyberised Brains in order to create the perfect crimes. It's origins are from a groundbreaking anime but musically the theme is neither happy nor sad. It's that powerful... Japanese don't tell u what's right, or wrong, good or bad... U decide.

+darkaquatus In addition, this is a "stronger" version of the original score from the first movie. On it, the song plays while the main character is fighting an arachnid tank by herself inside an abandoned museum. I can recall a great shot where the tank keeps shooting at some kind of tree of human evolution and runs out of ammo before reaching the word "hominids". Machine will never surpass mankind.

Music from the movie was awesome the movie was awesome but what sucked was originally it was only out in Japanese they didn't say on Amazon that it was sub which is fine for every other anime but because ghost in the Shell is such a detailed anime I feel having subtitles running along the bottom of the screen is a little distracting and they went way too fast for a person to read
