To add on you can see marks behind the car from when it came into the driveway. In the end you see the marks behind the car lead to misfortune, also Im pretty sure it's the same car in the cutscene. (+ the cutscene car was heading directly into the driveway and I think the mum was home)

I recommend playing Fran Bow next! it's made by the same developer as Little Misfortune and is much darker! Oh, yeah! the tree with crystals is actually the eternal happiness as a whole! you missed two so you didn't get the eternal happiness for Misfortune's mom! it's okay though! because either way, it's a good ending. By getting the eternal happiness, Misfortune is able to leave Pandora (the reality where Earth/Misfortune came from) with no worries because her mom will be happy for the rest of her life. By not getting the eternal happiness, Misfortune saying "you need to find your own happiness now" still leaves a strong message. Fun Fact: the characters who appear and disappear by the lightning when they got to Senersedee (where Benjamin brought Misfortune to) are actually cameos of some characters from Fran Bow! Itward is the skeleton dude that surprised Kenji a little, but don't worry! Itward is friendly 😁👍

I cried hard on this game tbh, she wants to give her mommy eternal happiness little did she know it was her death. Well, technically her death freed her from hell marriage. This game was so sad.

It's so sad that she didn't give her mom an Eternal Happiness at the end of the game because the only way she could give her mom an Eternal Happiness was to collect all hearts to fill up the tree by sprinkling the uncomfortable things beginning with the first scene, and then there will be an extra bonus scene of that which all of it lit up and gave her mom a true Eternal Happiness.

So.... was Misfortune's mom even sad about her child dying? The way she was standing by the police officer kind of looked like she was in on Misfortune's dad hitting her with the car. :/ This is my first time watching a playthrough, so I know little to nothing about the game. I honestly feel bad for Misfortune; it's like her parents named her Misfortune because she was a misfortune to them and they actually make her life a bit of a hell. Despite it all, Misfortune still loves her parents probably the way they couldn't love her. It's like they choose to take it out on her, even though it isn't really her fault at all. Idk, this is just how deep I look into it. :/
