I own the kenmore and love it!! Thank you for the review it was great. Ok guys 10 months later the small hose connection from the cleaner head to the vac broke in half.....if this happens to anyone one else please don't throw it out. Call the number on the vac. They will send u a whole new vac in 10 days. Have to take a pic of the hose and a pic of the cord cut from the broken one.

It is known for having that hose split, but it seems like Kenmore's warranty is better than shark. Shark usually sends refurbished units if anything.

Thank you for reviewing this vacuum! It has everything we were looking for and your detailed coverage was really helpful. We love the easy maintenance and cleanliness of the bagged, double filtration system. And thanks for showing how powerful the suction is compared to the Shark! One thing did stand out to me once we got the vacuum. You mentioned that the cord hook is hard to turn. It seems to me that only the top cord hook is meant to swivel. Just turning the top hook allows the cord to be unraveled. And the top hook is clearly designed to swivel while the bottom hook seems to be made to stay in a fixed position. Love the channel. Keep up the great work!

This review and the 2022 year end review are what made up my mind to purchase the Kenmore. I thought about the Kenmore Elite but because I have a simple 2 bed Apartment the extra power and weight seemed unnecessary and that turned out to true. The features actually got me excited about vacuuming and I vacuumed the whole apartment..... for fun! I am at the age where my interests as a younger man are not the same. I live for comfort now and not attention. This vacuum has changed my perspective and thus changed my life in a way. Thanks Vacuum Wars!

Until I started looking for a new upright vacuum, I didn't know Kenmore still existed. My mom's canister vacuum is an old Kenmore from probably close to 30 years ago, still works, recently had to replace the hose as it literally fell apart due to age....its now my vacuum for the travel trailer because its more compact, and with the very low profile power head you can get under everything in the trailer that you can't get to with the regular upgright vacuums. I ordered this same Kenmore Intuition vacuum a couple days ago, its supposed to be here next week....it's gonna get put to great use as I go through and deep clean the house throughout the winter.

Nice review! I have been considering leaving my Shark for this bagged Kenmore. I used to own a Kenmore canister and really like the idea having a bagged vacuum that is less maintenance intensive than a dust cup. I honestly hate having to wash out filters and bang them out to clear them of the dust I was trying to get rid of!
@wildbill23cАй бұрын
That's exactly why I prefer bagged vacuums, you spend more time washing the filters, and make a mess trying to empty the dust cups. I have my mom's old Kenmore Canister vacuum that's gotta be close to 30 years old, it still works, and its compact so I keep it in the travel trailer.

I bought this kenmore intuition because I needed a bagged lift away type vacuum to vacuum super high areas, the couch, base boards. Just for all around the house. But carpet wise. It was terrible. At least my carpet. It’s like thick medium height. I use my kenmore elite bagged upright 31150 on my carpet and it’s perfect. It’s the only vacuum that truly has power and truly deep cleans. But the kenmore intuition is perfect for allergy sufferers who want to vacuum more stuff high and low without having to haul around a heavy upright everywhere.

Honesttly..... I don't think a lot of people realize that if you have an upright vacuum that has a hose ...you can buy one of those vacuum hose exention kits....they make many different ones. For example... the kit I got had a 12 foot hose... 2 wands... and 4 attachments... I can pop the hose off my large upright vacuum... connect the 12 foot hose to that and just clean all over the place... only have to move the vacuum a little bit here and there...I use it ALL the time and without it...I couldn't clean nearly as well

Hello. Great video! Are you familiar with the Kenmore Intuition bu4050? The only place it is sold is on Amazon. This makes me wonder if it is a discontinued model. On Amazon, you can scroll down to see comparisons with other vacuums including the Intuition bu4022. The difference between the 4050 and 4022 is the main roller brush. The 4050 has a hair eliminator brushroll which helps eliminate hair tangles on the roll. Do you have any information on the bu4050?

Not only do bagged vacuum cleaners Filter the air better But they have proven to be far more reliable in the long run. Kenmore vacuums Have long been One of the most reliable vacuum brands by far. Especially those Versions that were designed by Panasonic. Although Panasonic no longer makes vacuum cleaners this is one of its leftovers. The company that took over Panasonic's vacuum division several years back His kept a lot of Panasonic's older designs which is a good thing. I have this intuition but I also have the kin more elite upright and canister vacs. Both have been running reliably for many years now.

I may go with a bagged upright vacuum. I am not an adult yet, but I’m sick and tired of getting an itchy nose every time I clean the filters on bagless vacuums, which both my grandparents and parents use. I was going to use a Bissell pet hair eraser turbo rewind, but it’s a Baglas unit. Bagged units are cheaper than bagless ones with water filtration, and I’d rather buy bags than get an itchy nose every time I have to clean the filters on bagless units. I also don’t want to have to deal with shitty cyclone units.

This is everything i was looking for and needed in a vacuum review. 3 cheers for comparing the kenmore intuition against the Shark! I have been searching for a bagged vacuum that is comparable to the Shark Navigator Lift-away. I wish Shark made a bagged version because I can no longer tolerate how icky it is to clean out the canister, and how it triggers my allergies whenever i clean the canister or filters. However I do Iove how well my Shark functions, and have owned the same model you used in this video for almost a decade. It still works great, and has only needed minor parts replaced over the years, but it’s time to retire it from being my primary vacuum. Looks like we’re gettin the Kenmore Intuition 👍 😎

Since its sealed and has a HEPA filter, did it pass the dry particle test? If so, what was it's score?
@VacuumWars3 жыл бұрын
If vacuums pass the fog test, with no visible fog at all, I typically don't do a dry particle test. I only do a particle test if I see visible fog. This is because it is possible for a vacuum to pass the particle test if there is minimal visible fog (less that 100 2.5 particles after three cycles) , but every vacuum that passes the fog test with no visible fog will pass the particle test without question. Basically passing the fog test is much harder than passing the particle test. Also doing particle tests basically ruins the vacuum because the dust is so fine. So I try to only use it when a vacuum claims to have good filtration but it doesn't pass the fog test.

There is no difference really between this and the Shark Navigator (which I also hate), except this is much heavier to push, has soft bristles, and the bag replaces the cup. My nose runs using this one even on the second floor where there is no cat litter dust. With the Shark, nose runs are limited to the cat litter area. Note they it uses 'bagless technology' (which means it blows dust out the front line a wind machine), just like my Shark. I can literally see dust and cat hair in the sun glare. So the only thing better is the disposable bag, so no dust in your face when emptying.

So my wife was wondering... Beater-bar brushes haven't changed in decades, and these high-suction vacuums pull the carpet up to meet those stiff brushes... Are we wearing out our carpets faster by pulling out more fibers faster? Is there maybe a type of carpet that is perhaps more resistant to the beating of these incredibly-efficient vacuums? I'm not complaining, but I am planning on replacing my carpets in a few years.
@Dirty_Bear223 жыл бұрын
Look for high end bulked continuous filament (bcf) nylon 6,6 a common brand is stain master. Triexta smart strand from Mohawk flooring is another great choice, similar wear resistance but amazing stain resistance when compared to nylon. High cleaning performance and carpet damage are not directly correlated. Vacuums from brands like Miele, Sebo, Kirby, Riccar, and Aerus have exceptional cleaning performance and are gentle on carpet fibers.
@jeffk37763 жыл бұрын
@@Dirty_Bear22 Thank you for the advice! I truly appreciate this site. As I head toward retirement, and the kids (hopefully) all learn to pay their own expenses, we plan to retire our 24-year-old carpet (we don't wear shoes in the house) and get new carpet and a new vacuum to go with it. We still have an old emerald-green Riccar, but we put it on ice after the death of our local Riccar repair expert. After that came a purple Dyson that cost us more in repairs than the original price paid, and still shrieks like a banshee. Then came a Shark that has done relatively well, but my wife curses the design engineers for the cord path and the slick attachment point to the floor unit. Something shook loose down there, and the power wires were getting stuck in between the microswitch and the plastic nub that allows the brush roller to spin up. I did my best to repair it, but picked up a refurbished NV351 for $75 from Walmart.com to use if the other one quits rolling again. That sucker (literally) picks up our throw rugs and will carry them around like a little Lab puppy until it is powered down, even with the suction-relief ring opened up all the way.

For vacuums, the Kenmore license is owned by Cleva (who also own Vacmaster). They got the license from Panasonic when they pulled out of the industry in North America.
@FanOfVacuums23 жыл бұрын
You may like the Kenmore CrossOver Max if you want a bagless machine with similar features to this unit. In fact, it is actually built better than this model due to it being one of the more premium, Panasonic-designed models. As mentioned, a company called Cleva now owns and manages the Kenmore vacuum cleaner line, though LG was the OEM for some older Kenmore models such as the "Magic Blue." Fortunately, Kenmore vacuum cleaners still are quite decent units. Sears was actually getting some awful machines made by random Chinese companies under the Kenmore name before they transferred the brand to Cleva, so I would argue that Cleva actually helped the line significantly.

@@FanOfVacuums2 I second this. With above-average airflow, great agitation, and a good cyclonic system, the Crossover is basically a Shark for people who hate Sharks.

So, the roller can't be removed for cleaning?

I guess Kenmore does not == Sears anymore. Too bad about Sears, but at least their good brands survived (Kenmore, Craftsman). This looks like a nice vacuum, especially when price is taken into consideration. But after years of trying just about every vacuum under the sun, I've pretty much settled on a good robot and a Dyson stick vac. And not having a lot of wall-to-wall carpeting. After having gone robot and cordless, the desire to have a cord and DIY is mostly gone. You didn't mention noise levels. Is this vacuum noisy? My one holdover from my corded days is a Miele "cylinder" vacuum and I appreciate its extreme quiet on the rare occasion that it gets used.

Can we use the 50688 vacuum bags with this Kenmore Intuition Upright Vacuum Cleaner? We had purchased a lot of them for a previous Kenmore that just gave up today.

If this were cordless it would be almost perfect!

Just an update comment Our vacuum the bag filter light doesn't work and the clogged filter light comes on even when it's not plugged we took it apart to check. The warranty is not much use because it cost more to send it in for repair than it's worth. Personally, I would not recommend this for reliability now that Kenmore is no longer a Sears product. It has some nice features but is definitely unreliable and the 5-year warranty is a joke. Though I still think bagged vacuums are the way to go just with more reliable companies such as Riccar or Simplicity though those cost a bunch more.

Thank you for your review! This does indeed resemble a Shark upright! When is Dyson going to come out with a bagged upright? I am curious.

It's not in Dyson philosophy to bring out a bagged vacuum cleaner. That will never happen. That is why Dyson started in the first place.
