I wanted wood flooring in my first home too. I lucked up on a deal on real hardwood. I got someone else to install it in my kitchen and hallway. My bead rooms already had hardwood in them so I pulled up the carpet and got them refinished. I even took the tile out of my bathroom and put down wood floors. Took a lot of savings on a teachers’s salary but it got done and I love it
