i know that in ny, the air traffic controlers are not actually at JFK< they are on long island, and controll all by radar. THere was a bomb threat to that facility once, ad it freaked everyone the fuck out vcause it supposed to be a secret location. but arrivals and departurs are from JFK/LAG/NWK

@@Cookiemagination Meanwhile I found out on my own. The MD-80 series is nicknamed the "Mad Dog". Wonder if it is just slang for it. This is a problem when you want someone to follow the MD-80 ahead of them, so controllers sometimes call that airplane a “Mad Dog”. Steve tells pilots to “Follow the angry puppy and contact the tower.”

It stands for the Taxiway TT at the airport and is probably the tugs destination from it's position at the jetblue ramp. Ut was funny because most people say "Ground" at the beginning of their transmissions when calling ground control, but the tug driver did not. Steve was calling that out and instead of giving a proper response the tug came back with only two letters.
