Music and Mind LIVE with Renée Fleming returns! On this week’s episode, we take a look at the amazing applications of music and dance in treating Parkinson’s Disease. Tune in LIVE on Tues. 9/8 at 5PM ET / 2PM PT!
Nobel Laureate Dr. Randy Schekman, an investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and a Professor of Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of California at Berkeley, will give us the very latest on Parkinson’s disease research. Renowned dancer and pedagogue David Leventhal will discuss his pioneering work directing “Dance for PD” at the Mark Morris Dance Group. The episode will also feature the premiere of the PD Virtual Choir Project, led by another of this week’s guests, Dr. Elizabeth Stegemoller of Iowa State University. And Dr. Bin Hu of the University of Calgary will discuss his Ambulosono app project, as well as his research into improving outcomes for patients with PD through music and rhythm.
