We have literally watched these boys grow up since they have been coming to the Cedar Cultural Center in Minneapolis for many years. For those who are unfamiliar Minneapolis and St.Paul is home to a large Swedish community. Since I married a Swede it was only natural to seek out things that would make her happy and reconnect to her roots. Boy did we find a connection through Vasen. Thanks Boys. These chaps are something else - as the description says playful but with such depth and beauty - I really hope they will play in England someday , they never seem to . They sound like 6 people at times -off the scale musicianship and totally original .

Poler, or probably more likely spelled polare, is (I belive) a Swedish colloquial for a drunkard. He's probably wearing it as a joke.

I heard them live in CA a few months ago and asked Roger about the tuning because I was stumped watching him. He said he plays alot tuned ADADAD. I never would have guessed that.

Quite differently, I guess. By the way, the instrument played here is a 5-string-violin, not a viola. In fact, it is a combination of both instruments. The tuning is C - G - D - A - E.
