I genuinely believe Kennen needs a VGU. Not because his model and animations are outdated but you cannot tell me that a "burst mage assassin" should have a freaking *MOVEMENT SPEED ABILITY* in the modern league than a dash. Why do you think in pro play when players use Kennen in team fights they ALWAYS e +flash+ protobelt+ult everytime? Because if they try to E ULT it doesn't take much brain power for the enemy to react to a small lighting rat zooming into them and having built-in escapes to avoid kennen

He's balanced by his item/summoner timers.

@santiagojara8056 but that shouldn't be the case. Items should benefit the Champs playstyle/scaling not solely to be dependent in order to function. Old udyr had to rely on turbo chemtank, which made him super op that it went through a slew of changes. Eventually, udyr got reworked and didn't need to rely on turbo (especially since it got changed to a legendary to then being removed). Kennedy LEGIT can't function on team fights if he doesn't have his protobelt and flash up becuase his e gives movment speed, not a dash, and unless its hecarim or garen who are very tanky to charge in it's difficult for kennen in modern league because everyone has a dash or a form of cc to stop/avoid Kennen. Despite many champs that can teamfight without having to flash or solely rely on an item.

I think kennen is fine in a way. GRAGAS needs to be fixed, uses almost no mana, can dash bump go through walls and more. busted drunkard

Thanks so much for taking the time to do Kennen’s review - I’ve been waiting for this one for quite some time as he’s been my favourite champ for quite a few years! Indeed, it does feel as though League has evolved so much compared to Kennen who’s remained relatively the same. My hope is so that we can at least see his Awakening redesign used more in the near future and perhaps a nice skin that develops his character some more as well.

No worries, I get it - he can feel dated with his limited animations too. The electric aesthetic is a big one for me such as turning into a small ball of lighting , but getting that perfect 3-5 champion ultimate is something I quite enjoy about Kennen (especially team fights). He used to be far more flexible with AP and AD builds in the past too which I liked as well. His design is very simple and could use an update, but I feel Kennen has potential to be more fun (and live up to his lightning fast fantasy) with a visual update.

Kennen is definitely a character that really needs a visual update, but at the same time I'd put every other visually outdated champ before him. It's not that he's a bad character, or that his redesign is bad or his gameplay is bad, it's just that he's the definition of mid imo. Half the cast looks better than him, and the other half worst. And the worst half is so bad that they retroactively attract a subset of the community that wants to see them updated.

nah, half lor kennen's voicelines is just "i must avenge my students!" on repeat, because for some reason he only seems to have the one line for when an ally dies, and must say it every time an ally dies

I really wish we could get a skin for Shen from a universe where he broke his oath/lost his shit and killed Zed. "Outcast Shen" needs to be a real legendary skin even more so seeing how Shen has none and has been around for so long. (mentioned this because were talk about Kinko) that being said Kennen needs some love for sure like a lot of old champs.

Electric rat is one of my favorite champions next to the void puppy and league kratos. I think he's a fun champion, and he seriously needs an update in lore and model.

As a devout Kennon main, I’ve known his issue for AGES He (and many other champions) are in need of a VGU, ASU, or literally any other update. The issue is that they aren’t as dire as other people like Singed, Shyvana, Corki, etc That doesn’t mean he doesn’t need some update, because JESUS he does. I could be wrong but off the top of my head in the last 5 or so years, he’s been buffed like 8 times and nerfed ONCE

As a former Kennan player. You go full Ap if they squishy and will just die to ult, Ap/AS if you want they have disengage/tanks. I loved AS Kennan, stun locking shurikens.

how to fix Kennen : Kennen gets retired and starts has a master of a new "Heart of the Tempest" that also can be a Yordle, this student could be "EMBER MONK" or any from his cards. So now you get a new refresh direction for his story (rework also) and dynamic with a new champion AND THE BEST PART: Kennen could be the thunder, the dmg in area meanwhile his student is the lightning, the speed like he was. I dont know is my view because Kennen doesnt work at all he is CANON 200 years old or even more, he intregrated human society in Ionia a long time ago so any new idea on him would be retcon the Kikou so he is a Rookie and a Yordle with zero exp. with humans and a lot of quirky interactions with Shen the logical robot and Akaly the teen. If they go that direction would a focking comedy sitcom LMAO but he was around with this lore of 200 years old since the start of the NEW LORE and World map.

Kennen feels like he has abilities, but he doesn't have a kit. He gets attack speed and on-hit from E and W but also wants to run in and ult with E and Ult but also has poke or a generic projectile on Q. Like his abilities don't synergize well. His kit should be something like his E lets him teleport to a marked enemy and his ult is just Zeri ult but applies marks for stun so he can actually use the attack speed, and then make his q and auto enhance or something. Like make it all work together one day, Riot, please.

I like his kit, feels fine to me. You poke your laner down until you all in him. Then late game you're strong enough to 1 shot most of the team. He just needs some quality of life buffs if anything

Kennen holds such a space in my heart, got my first penta and i was so happy my friend who introduced me bought me blood moon. I wish he'd be updated to fit the modern scene because i do really enjoy his character and he'd be so good to see with all the shit going down in ionia. Akali just dipped and Shen is so busy being horny, i feel like they could go a green lantern route and instead of the eye/fist he raises up a council of elemental yordles

Kennen is, alongside Lulu, Corki, Rumble and Teemo part of the yordles who desperately needs either an ASU or a VGU. The idea behind kennen is certainly interesting, a yordle who got to be part of a secret ninja order who protects the balance. However his design is just very poor and rather than looking like a yordle he feels more like a furry rat fursona. Not to mention his models has the same amount of polygons that the corkster has.

I think they should tone down his silliness in terms of personality, but I hope they keep his squeaky voice. It creates an interesting and funny contrast, and it just feels cool and unique to me to have this very wise important figure with this squeaky voice.

5:52 You were in time for Kennen's quality of life update in 14.9 where he doesn't stop for a sec while ulting. Kennen was one of the champions I first started to try different champs. I was mainly Nasus and Morde. Loved him first time, now indifferent. Not a fan of his playstyle of kiting and diving, and then essentially being an ult bot. Also I'm bad at skillshots - Q either misses or get minion blocked.

I personally enjoy building kennen on hit. Especially now that they removed lethal tempo, he's one of the few characters that can break the attack speed cap. It gets to the point to where i basically never spend energy on my Q, just my W and E for the stun stacks and the AS buff. Is it the most potent kennen build? no. But it is still pretty potent. Havent tried it since they revamped the ADC items yet.

Kennen is my favorite champion and i loved the direction he was going with the new (guess old now) lore, and also the awaken design. But then riot just keeps this horrible model, doesnt use the new design for wild rift, he is not in the cinematic, doesnt give him new voice lines or good effects, and then LOR's Kennen just feels like a complete different character, the point of his story is that he is fighting for everyone that has died because he is IMORTAL, and then LOR gives him IMORTAL yordle friends... Also his art there looks like a hyperrealistic onion with eyes and his play style is boring as fuck, but his voice lines are the worst part, he is supposed to be a fun person with a serious side, but they wanna make my lil bro become Yoda 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀

I know that in the pokemon community theres the talk of "every pokemon is at least, the favorite of someone" but for some champions in league, man, is difficult to say that. Kennen looks like a weebo rat, like hes favorite anime of all time is naruto and he loves sasuke or something along this line
