Man restorations are so satisfying. It really warms my heart to see these old Kenner figures lovingly restored to new glory. I’ve always thought this figure was awesome looking. I had the dark green Lost World young T-Rex (and that orange repaint one that came out later lol) as a kid, and I always really loved it. So great to see it again!

The young Rex is the absolute best T. rex toy ever made. Especially the original brown one. The feel, the size, the proportions, the cartoonish realism, and unmatched vintage paleo details are all so extraordinary

You know, you ought to try repainting some of the old Kenner ALIENS marine figures for Jurassic Park. The humans used the same scale and were fully compatible between the lines.

Gorgeous! That series 2 Trex sure has a striking paint job. I remember seeing it on shelves as a kid, going “that’s not what it looked like in the movie. Pass!” What a moron young me was! Almost makes me want to get a worn down used one to restore for myself now!

Nice i might need to restuff mine i have the red rex and Lost World Bull but their tails seem permanently bent
@gorrbaczow2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, seems to be a common issue that stems from the packaging being too small, therefore the tails were bent in box already.

Okay hopefully some one sees this, and I know it’s a dumb question but is the JP mark like a print or stamped on the figure cause I want a JP mark on my figure and I have tried drawing it and it doesn’t really look good

Hi Jurassic compound!I always considered doing a repaint of my red rex just like the stan winston maquette but feared that acrylics would crack and chip.so as you recommended to always use acrylics with the old rubber toys did you never had any chipping of paint issues with these repainted rubber figures?
@JPcompound2 жыл бұрын
I've never had any issues. Just make sure you prep the surface well and apply your paint in thin layers with an airbrush. After you paint it, seal it with an acrylic sealer and put it on a shelf and never touch it again.
@hanzkasper13542 жыл бұрын
@@JPcompound ah ok - I also thought about mixing a tiny bit of latex color into my acrylics dunno if that'd workout with an airbrush but drybrushing and other pencil work should be possible that way.

Hi, A few days ago, I made a custom Spino-Raptor toy by repainting a Raptor and adding a sail. I painted the whole body in yellow enamel paint, but after watching this video, I noticed that the enamel paint won't dry on the rubber places. Is there anything that you would recommend me doing? Thanks, Sam

I wish they would make this dino minus the damage in the new line. We need more Rex's of different sizes and shapes. Not just repaints of the Original JP Rex but different sclupts. Like the bull has a different skull shape and neck then the JP Rex. The Doe even had a slightly different skull shape to the JP Rex.

Poor Young T-rex number two, she defiantly had better days. Until she gets beaten up by a little kid. A toy's worst nightmare! Luckily I take care of my toys, even when I was little, lol, even if a little bit of paint comes off, I go crazy!
