Kenneth is so different here from his on-screen persona. He's almost like a Senior Judge or barrister. Thanks so much for uploading.

Probably my favourite of all the Carry On actors. He had the most wonderful infectious giggle in those movies. The laughing gas scene in 'Carry On Nurse' kills me every time. And that marvellous giggle was exploited again in 'Carry On Regardless'. What a fine comedy actor he was.

Here in America, none of my friends know of the Carry On series but, for 35 years, I've been a big fan. The first one I saw was Carry On Cruising, in 1975. The antics of Kenneth Connor, Charles Hawtrey, Kenneth Williams, Joan Sims, and the rest, always break me up. I have the DVD boxed set, and I never tire of watching the films.

American's tend to know about themselves; they're highly tribalistic.

Kenneth Williams thought this man was fantastic in every film of the Carry On Series he appeared in. A very high accolade considering he was hugely critical of several other co stars.

Truly excellent comic actor. Arguably the funniest of them all in the films. And what a beautiful speaking voice.

I remember Kenneth Connor even further back than that. In the early 1950's he was in "Ray's a Laugh" with Ted Ray. Kenneth took the part of "Sidney Mincing" - an hilarious part, always greeted with big applause whenever he came on. He was also in at least one of the Blackadder series. A long career - one of England's gems.

He contributed by being a gifted comic actor who could derive the maximum comic effect out of the script. He was also very funny when appearing in TV panel games which he did in the Sixties.

What a truly succinct and apt line he says ‘ it’s a waste of time avoiding or pretending you know nothing about’. This applies to all societies and none more so than today.

Thus far, I've only ever seen him in allo allo, so I'm used to hearing him talk in an outrageously exaggerated French accent

Because he was an excellent comic actor. His timing was wonderful, he could hold an audience and was very good at playing to the camera. He was just as good at physical comedy as he was the verbal which you can see from his 'Macbeth' scene in an episode of Blackadder III. This is only my opinion of course but I think he could steel a scene. I will ask you a question now. If you can't see why people thought he was good, why are you watching him on this website?
