Such a wonderful video! I'm wearing a big smile here. I love your night sky filming. And how cool that you were filming the flying birds from above. (Hights and edges are something I keep away from.) The other day I sat in the park meditating. And when I looked up, 2 buzzards were circling very close by, nearly above me. Special moments. :)

Fantastic video footage. Do you know what the bright red light was on the distant horizon that night? The fireflies were really cool, I miss them. Thank you Ken and Bob.
@KennethKramm8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Garland. The red light was a tower. It was flashing (but not photographed as flashing because each frame was a 30 second exposure). The fireflies were amazing. They added a different dimension to the night sky video. Take care, Ken

Ken, Bob is a good guy thats for sure:) I had to smile when you said "I wish I could fly". You need a Drone. Used considerately one would be a great asset to your channel. There are some really good ones out now like the Phantom4. Why don't you "think about it":))) Sandy
@KennethKramm8 жыл бұрын
Hi Sandy, Yes, a drone used considerately, would be nice. However, laws in the USA make their use very limited. The are illegal in State Parks, National Forests and National Parks, most County Parks and most public beaches (even when no people are around.) I can use them on private property with permission of the land owner. Only in vary rare situations, with special permits are they allowed in public places. The government uses drones extensively, but that's another story... Yes indeed, I wish I could fly. Stay tuned for adventure... Ken
@WiltshireMan8 жыл бұрын
LOL Me too Ken. I love the thought of being able to fly. Laws can be very tough sometimes. There is a guy in your neck of the woods called Jim Bowers. (Demunseed) on KZbin. He is worth checking out if you ever do decide to go that route. You can bet I will stay tuned for adventure:)
@KennethKramm8 жыл бұрын
Awesome. I'll check Jim's channel. Restrictions aside, I have an interest in drones. It's just that they cannot be legally used most places where I hike and camp. But when the government wants pictures / video from a drone it is eager to provide a permit. Last week for example, I was asked by the Texas Forest Service, to use my drone (that I don't own) make a video about modern logging practices.

Very cool Ken, good job! Were you shooting at one frame every 30 seconds? Just beginning to do some night lapse in the Sierra Nevada. That's my kind of photography, sleep and let the camera do the work.
@kinogarcia44317 жыл бұрын
Hi, I have a question, how do you connect your gopro to be turn on all night? So in your experience what is the best capacity in the SD memory to take this kind of video?, best regards.
@drcsep8 жыл бұрын
A wonder of the worlds... nicely done... Ken... what camera do you use besides de GoPro?
@KennethKramm8 жыл бұрын
On this trip I only used a GoPro HERO4 Silver and an iPhone 6+. On most camping trips I also bring a Canon Vixia HF G30. This is an excellent camcorder; but it is bulky and heavy.

Didn't realize gopro had low light resolution and long battery life
@KennethKramm8 жыл бұрын
Night-lapse is possible only on HERO4 GoPros. Camera is connected to an external battery; the battery in the camera would last about 2 hours, without an external charger. Each night, time-lapse video was shot from dusk to dawn.
