I completely agree. I had a couple of these for 20 years, shooting Kodachrome and Fujichrome ( I would meter at 0/-). Best cameras ever.

Great video, I have the FM2N and love its solidity and fail safe character. Very easy to use without too much thought going into it, saving it for the shot composition.

Nice video, informative and honest as always. I have an FE2, and love it. But I'm more and more inclined to get myself an FM2. As far as I'm concerned fully mechanical cameras are the future, as SLR electronic cameras are starting to get old, and replacement parts are not that easy to find anymore. Thanks for the upload.

Great video. You mentioned working as a photojournalist in the film days. I'd be very interested to hear of your experiences and work from that period. And if you have already made such a video, my apologies, I missed it.

It really does seem like the FM2 truly is as reliable and durable as everyone says. I really want one so bad, (and have wanted for months now) a black N version with a 50mm f/1.8. Don't think I've ever before wanted a camera so much.

The FM2! A wonderful camera. As you say a backup to the F3 although I never needed as the F3 is a hard working tool, consequently my FM2 has only had about 5 rolls from new! And not for sale !

This is my friend's favourite camera. He bought it new. He has the 50mm 1.4 on it. He also has a Nikkormat EL with a 28mm 3.5 on it. It's a poor lens. I wish I had a Fm2. 250th of a second flash synch. I have a Nikon FE that has auto so my partner who is not a technical photographer,, can use it. I use a Nikkor 50mm f2 on it.

I use a Leica rangefinder; it might be the only camera I ever use again. But I'm not selling my Nikon FM2.

People say the FM, and FM2 are great “beginner “ cameras. I call it them cameras for purists.
