I heard this in the 80s and was blown away by Kenny's playing. The rest is history.

African American musicians are all one in spirit and play from the same spirit. It takes time to realize that. All playing from the seed of one named Charlie Parker

@@a.nobodys.nobody No one persons seed has thoroughly taken root in African American indigenous music like Birds. I have personally had this conversation with many of the greats. All seeds don't germinate the same. However you are entitled to "your" opinion.

@@albertbrown359 by African American indigenous music you are referring to what specifically? Aka Jazz? How would he be the origin of this spirit? What existed before him?

Looks like Tom Harrell

The most left trumpet player in the trumpet section plays 2nd trumpet (Tom Harrell), Earl Gardner is a real lead player and is also mentioned in the line-up. So my guess: Earl Gardner. Tom is a soloist, no lead.

He quotes a whole bunch of “memes” honestly, but classily lol. It’s pretty smart because it takes something that people can easily recognize and lets him play off of it harmonically by taking it through the changes. Cool and pretty humorous imo 🎷🐛
