My father took me to see this movie with him as a child. My parents were just freshly divorced at that time. This movie was a beautiful story between a father and son. My dad loved this movie. As I get older I really appreciate it. This song is so beautiful as well and fits the film perfectly. This last December my dad passed away unexpectedly. Today was his birthday and I looked this song up because it reminds me of him and our bonding during that hard time. I can’t stop tearing up listening to this. ❤️

I was born in 82 and loved every minute of the 80's. Ive often said itvwas the best for music in pretty much every music genre and for movies too. The 90's had some good stuff too!! The greatest thing was people were more genuine, original with their music, film, and everything else!! Nowadays people just copy or remake everybody else's work!! May you all have a great blessed day, stay safe, and god bless!!

Well, I agree this is one of the many feel good movies. The father and son bonding, the death of the mother and the rich vindicative grandfather trying to tear them apart. The father's willingness to sacrifice his own happiness to protect his son and the son discovering his grandfather's treachery and then chasing after his dad. Then the dad overcame his own insecurities and kicking ass. And then taking the prize money and his son and starting their life together. This is a movie that every father and son needs to watch together and especially listening to Kenny Loggins song 'Meet me Halfway'

Kenny Loggins was Mr. Soundtrack in the 80's....Over The Top, Footloose, Top Gun...Had the chance to meet him at a private concert I provided security for. I was in charge of backstage and his trailer. He invited me in with the band, had lunch, told me I could raid the fridge or use the facilities if needed so I didn't have to use the porta john.
