Growing up in a motorcycle family, I now now my dad's passion for Kenny..it's all I remember him talking about as a youngster @ 11 I think..dad passed on years ago so I can't reminece with him anymore...good stuff for the ages...what a champion was Ken!!

Truly amazing.. It must have been so strange for him. Can just imagine all the emotions and memories as he tipped it into the first bend and slid the back out. He really went for it by the looks.. Amazing..

Kel was also a hell of a rider. He won the 250cc World Championship not too long before Yamaha asked him to look after their new prodigy.

I did the same if anyone knows an know one told me i raced a 1986 FX 750 in stock trim...an mu 70 hours a week of woods an riding motocross...it took all my skill to ride an race that bike...it was a hand full very fast turning it was new for me that was the tricky part..like kenny said they dont pay me enough to ride this....a 750 triple 2 stroke....i earned tje name doctor cyclepath....ill let u figure that out...thanks

As a teen, I attended some flat track races in NY. I wanted to race flat track until I was able to stand by the trackside and hear and feel these guys roar a few feet past me. Holy Christ. I really hadn’t appreciated the speeds involved. I tried scrambles and motocross instead.

Watching King Kenny on the oval makes you realise where he developed such control on sliding the rear wheel on the GP circuits you cannot take it away from the Americans they learn it young then as with Mamola Schwartz and Co they show the rest of the world how it's done but alas Rocket Ron Sheene and the very underated Rob Macelnea put up more than a good fight , Ron Haslam will always be a unsung Hero 💯🔥👌

Yes a no doubt thanks to yamaha for make really fast engines an motorcycles....i was starting as a new mechanic at a motocross racing mod shop..but wasnt fast enuf to be tim ferrys mechanic at the races...so my boss call his friends a the yamaha dealership an got me an apprentice job...while there yamaha tech guys had been there for some problem with a new bike the other japanese bike mec hanic say to him the FZ 750 whats up with that 3rd valve on the 5 valve head on the 750...hmmm the yamaha tech rep says ...faster faster i think....i think i had already raced an FZ sovi just laughed....in 1987 i was the loan club racer on a yamaha as every one was jumping in the new gsxr...90 pounds lighter it was still no match for the yamaha FZ 750....in acceleration an shifting...in stock trim it squatted an launched a start better than any bike i ever rode...it lifted the front wheel 5 inch es an went faster than the wind...i get the holeshot everytime i do a start...an that bike was perfect just the way it left the factory...i was really impressed by that...
