I pray she makes it as well. I have a story to share and perhaps your mama might smile from it. I was with my mom and aunt walking in the Arcade in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. This was like a mall at the time. It was the 90's. We saw Kenny walking past us with a woman on each arm. At first they were unsure if it was him. My mom and aunt ran to the record store about 50 ft away and bought his latest record. My aunt caught up with Kenny and he gladly signed the CD cover. 😊 Kenny's music is magical to me. My grandfather would play it when we had family vacations. His voice can move mountains. I pray that he can move yours. I hope you can give us an update. Something led me to your message and I want to know why. All the best to you and your mama.

When my husband was a kid he roller skated competitively, sometimes with his sister. Then while we were married he worked at the local roller rink. He was a favorite of everyone. This is one of the songs we skated to every week during couples skate for 40 years. He taught me some dance steps and we were a spectacle! I felt so beautiful and loved! Apparently this was played at my GodMother/ Aunty and her husband (who became my Uncle)’s wedding in 1981. I was 3 years old. Been listening to Kenny for most of my 59 years now. I remember when he came out with this song, was in my Senior Year of High School. I was in choir at the time and recommended that we do the song as a class, our teacher agree. So the early winter of 1981, we practice and sang this very song in a concert. Sometimes, I forget that it has been so long now. Good days back then.

yep, i was a little kid in drum corps summer 1981 and we practiced this so many times and use to perform this at parades and competitions, i think i have a memory of playing this in a gloucester parade to standing ovation. now i am 53 i think back then i must have been 12. my mother passed a few years ago, she told me a little secret that i never knew before: she always loved kenny rogers too even though she raised us to be super classical music people
