I remember my dad playing his 8 Track Album “The Gambler” back in the early 70’s as a young kid. I love that he is a strong kind handsome man! We need more of these kinds of men back!

Yes I agree that is a song about a woman he loves more than life a deep love.men only say these words to get what they want and those that are sincere think a woman would not believe. He delivers a vulnerability that men are afraid to feel.to bad! Everyone is afraid of getting hurt yet these words we all want to feel and hear!

irst saw thank you. Thank you Kenny or I is my father, dozens one of the most greatest songs ever wrote in the world and America waste. But thank you and by the way he was my father but he was still alive he would tell you one thing and one thing, you are the most beautiful women in the world. That's just the way he was so you know. But my mother he met her I caught a show called E all. Now were getting way back in time. And when you get a chance look up a movie called six pack that's on my dad did a movie together.and then you realize what an incredible man he was. But I'm telling you right now thank you for making this KZbin video, and like I said my father was so live, he would tell you first of all me being the son go for these two beautiful women, but your weight you young for me, but thank you thank you and thank you from the Rogers family.

You should have seen him in concert. My wife and I went to a performance and it was amazing. The crowd sang most of his songs back to him. He just ate it up and it was a magical evening under the stars.

He was a very special talent. I love how he used his voice to paint the lyrics on our hearts. And the song...Lionel Richie has been a truly remarkable songwriter...many really superb songs. But I think this one and Hello (kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3myf4GZj8eqers) are his two best.

Lionel Richie originally wrote this song for his then-band "the Commodores", but they all rejected it. So, instead he gave it to Kenny Rogers, and he nailed it. I wonder if any of the Commodores regret their decision. RIP Kenny Rogers!
