Listening to Kenny Washington trading uptempo is always amazing to listen to! His ideas are very clear and he always keep the energy up! In this instance, he is trading with Gary Smulyan on baritone sax. They start out trading 8s then 4s then 2s! Lots of great ideas for those looking for some jazz vocabulary on the drum set! @@GreggermannMusic yes! I use a lot of rudiments over every form. The Alan Dawson drummer vocabulary, Sheuerell sticking orchestrations, ecc. are the basis for shaping solos. Masters like Joe are profound connoisseurs of those things!
