This song meant so much to me and my wife. We erred young, tequila was our drink, and the world. She battled leukemia for 3 years and this song played so many times during that. Then 2 years ago God called her home. I still listen when I wanna go back to a time when I still had her.

So once again a perfect example of Kenny’s taste of complex simplicity in what I call southern singing.. the boy can sing .. no doubt.. he stays in his natural range, and covers a few octaves effortlessly almost telling a story,…life views, and life lessons from a very real moment or perspective,…very relatable, simple but diabolical and wickedly painful… always great to hear from you Kenny, all the best to you and yours..

I love this song.. It reminds me of a time when I was completely broken. I can remember listening to this with an unbearable ache in my heart. Time heals everything. When you feel like you can't make it through something just hang on because you can. It will get better.. Little by little the pain fades until one day you look back and it is just a memory.. One that makes you realize how strong you really are.

This song takes me back to a time when I met a fireman who was down on his luck and at the time a nursing student who wanted to take care of him. He lost his job, drank all day and I was trying to better myself. Went back to nursing school in my 40’s. He was married to the bottle and in and out of rehab. We watched this video over and over. 30 days 30 nights. I got us tickets to KC in 2016 and it was magical. We both cried when he sang Tequila. The struggle is real. Loving an alcoholic when you know it’s not good for you. He ended up moving to the gulf coast and I graduated nursing school. I am afraid he has passed. He was in bad shape before he moved. I will forever love my country boy. Get er done

Song brings me to tears. You only have one true love...period. Never understood how people went on to marry 2,3,4 or more times. I did it one time and I swore Id never do it again. Ruined a couple of really good relationships because of that attitude. I STILL compare all the ladies I've had a relationship with to her...after 10 years of marriage, hard not to. She's with someone else now...but still calls me and sneaks off to see me when I'm down south. But it will never be like it was...and goddamnit man...that shit still hurts. How to you force yourself to move the fuck on and forget that past...because no matter what substance I try to drown my sorrows in, that pain is always there. So I dunno...if you find that one...that magical one...you had better hold onto them with all your might because I'm telling you...once in a lifetime is a long, long time. Don't throw that away. 😢

Honestly, Grace is such a great performer. I recently saw her for the first time in Apple Valley, MN. I have never seen Kenny, I do like his musician quality. I was frankly taken abate by the performance that Grace did or was allowed to do. She has so much to offer and I felt like she wasn't able to do what she does best. So with that being said I would hope in the future that well established artist would allow others artist to shine, instead of the focus on them!

You probably won't ever see this, and that's okay, but I need to say it. I loved you with all my heart and still do. You stir my heart like tequila and even the thought of you makes me feel better. You're gone and I hope where ever you are, you are happy and living life just like you promised you would. I miss you like mad and every single sunrise I think of that beautiful red hair and your winter blue eyes. I miss your hugs and kiss and nothing in the world can help me forget them. Though I see now that I don't ever want to. The memory of you is a miracle in itself. I hope to see you again one day, if not I will still die a lucky man. - The last memory I'm clinging to.

Just heard Deana Carter perform this live last night. She told the story of touring with Kenny and he'd always come out front to watch her perform it and then go back stage to get ready to sing.

Right here where I live in the Virgin Islands..Kenny has made St. John one of his adopted homes. When the hurricanes Irma and Maria kicked our ass back to back..Kenny REALLy helped in so many ways with our community...and we all REALLY appreciate it. When our band plays out again in Maho Bay I'll drop you a note! Seriously though THANKS for all your great and heartfelt music...Good on ya Kenny!

One of his best songs… I play it every gig!! Not as well as him for sure but I just love it!!! Buffet said once that if he played all his favorite songs, no one may come to see him… I play it regardless what people want… love this song!!!

We decided to sell our family farm about a month ago. We are still in the process of selling it, but I still can feel the pain in my chest of leaving the only place I've ever know, and all I've ever wanted. Had this song in my head while milking cows this morning.
