Kenny, clever little project this week. Lots of uses and it gets rid of even more pieces of scrap. Nice job.

The Jig Knob looks like it was made in a factory. That is a fine little piece of craftsmanship. Like you said, very quick and simple to make. We all have those small pieces of scrap piling up. At least I do. Very little waste with a scroll saw. Oh, and thanks for the advice on the saw. I found a nice English made one for $40..00 U.S. Much appreciated! Take care my Friend!

Thanks for the kind words on the show Michael. I hope you like your new saw and that it works for you in the way you hope it will. Thanks for tuning in.

Good show as always Ken. I think I prefer your star shaped ones but as you say, these are easy to make so I will make a few of these too.
@acutabove_woodworkings2 жыл бұрын
These ones are much easier on the hands John and for anyone who has arthritis, they can be the difference between being able to use a jig knob and not being able to use a jig knob. Good luck on your project and thanks for tuning in to the show.

Loved seeing the layout circles and care taken to secure the bolt head/foot in there.

Greta video and idea. This way you can make them as you need them. I hate the idea of buying “kits”, and then you never use some of them. I am a cut-n-sand person. The sander is definitely my friend. LOL. Now, for a female jig knob, I was thinking about maybe using a threaded insert with a little CA glue locking it in. I don’t think they would come out without it, but hey, one drop is all I think would needed. But your idea of using a nut is definitely cheaper. Thanks.

Sounds like I should produce a show on making the female knobs as well Scott. Thanks for tuning in to the show and for the kind words. It is truly appreciated.

Very cool project. I love these sleeper ones -- deceptively simple and easy, but *incredibly* useful. :) As for the notifications, I really miss the mail as well. I wish they'd go back to that. :( My workaround in the meantime is to use the "Subscriptions" channel on the left side of the page (same section as Home). I actually keep a tab pinned to that in my browser, and just refresh when I have a moment. It's the best I can think of, though I work much better with push notifications (like the mail) vs. pull (like the refresh). Thanks again!

Glad that you liked the show John. I couldn't agree more with the notification issue. I too wish they would bring back the email notifications. I'm glad you've found a work around. For my show, it's easy to know when there's a new one. Every Tuesday and every Friday. 10am. Hope to see you there. Thanks for tuning in and taking the time to leave your comment.

Thanks Ken, I always make the round knobs and sometimes they are to wide so I can't get my fat fingers around them specially when it's up close to the fence

Great job Kenny! The “oval” shape is one I prefer due to arthritis…… much simpler to use 🤠

Question, the bolt was a tad bit loose before glue up. Is the bolt solid after glue up? If so epoxy for the bolt? Great videos thanks for them.
@acutabove_woodworkings2 жыл бұрын
You can epoxy the bolt if you wish Paul but the squeeze out of the glue up, usually fills in the gaps and solidly secures the bolt in place. I hope this helps. Thanks for tuning in to the show.

I need to make one similar for my scrollsaw, so a smaller bolt.
@acutabove_woodworkings2 жыл бұрын
I would say a much smaller bolt. Just be careful of making the knob too large as it will cause the scroll saw to vibrate. Thanks for tuning in Mark and good luck on your project.
