Nice job on the drill press table. And like you say, your parts are only as good as your jigs will allow, so I always take a lot of care to get things as close to perfect as I can. Will be waitin' for part 2. Thanks Ken. David

Accuracy is key when making any jig, no matter how simple. Thanks for tuning in David. I hope you will enjoy part 2.

Oh, a cliff hanger! I saw a little something on your intro that I can't wait to see! I have an old (ancient) Rockwell drill press that I've been wanting to update, so this build couldn't have come at a better time. I like my press, but it has a round table on it, and a makeshift "jig" that gets the job done but I wrestle with it every time I use it. Another thing is the dreaded crank to raise and lower the table. It's ALWAYS in the way. Something tells me you've found a way around that (hint hint.) Great start Kenny and ready for #2!

I have definitely found a way around that Dennis. You're going to love it. Thanks for tuning in and for chiming in with your thoughts.

Great timing, Kenny. I'm just away to build a mobile stand for my drill press and while am at it I'm going to make your auxiliary table for my press. Well done, great project 👍

Glad that you liked it Eddie. Good luck on your project. It sounds awesome. Thanks for tuning in

Great video. Thanks for sharing. You are one of the very few woodworkers who is using dowel centre points. I use them myself as well. It's quite tedious to work with them, so when you are in a hurry it's quite possible you have to do it again and again.
@acutabove_woodworkingsАй бұрын
Dowel centre points aren't my "go to" method but there are some applications where they just shine. Thanks for tuning in Hans and for chiming in with your comment.

Hi Kenny. I have been thinking about a drill press table for mine too, so you have given me some good ideas. I will keep this in mind for a project after I have finished my next few I have in mind, so thanks for this one Kenny, great job.

This is interesting... I was just gifted a Bauer 12" variable speed Drill Press and a Wen 24"x12" drill press table... My 4 children got it for me. It replaces my 8" Haror Freight Central Machinery drill press. Great video...

That sounds like a great setup Joel. While it's nice to have a setup like that, you might still want to tune in to part 2 of this build. There's a tool modification that you won't want to miss. Thanks for tuning in.

Great build and instructions as always. I am interested in your table saw blade, nice cut on cross grain in plywood.
@acutabove_woodworkingsАй бұрын
The table saw blade is a Forrest table saw, fine cross cut blade. They aren't cheap but they are certainly a cut above some of the normal blades that are available on the market. www.leevalley.com/en-ca/shop/tools/power-tool-accessories/saw-blades/table-saw/46446-forrest-woodworker-blades?item=15T4135 I hope this helps. Thanks for tuning in Brian.

A great show and a wonderful project. Your stress on accuracy is dead on. You can adopt the old adage of the 5 or 6 P's to this: Prior Planning Prevents Pee Poor Performance. (for the 5 P's, just leave out the "Pee" 😉) Can't wait to see the concluding design and build.
@acutabove_woodworkingsАй бұрын
Your work and your jigs are only as good as your preparation and your attention to accuracy. Even junk tools can be calibrated to be accurate so no one has an excuse. LOL. Thanks for tuning in this week
