Great Video and Project as usual Kenny. I like being organized with everything in it's place, and also a clean place as well. That way a clean shop is a safe shop, and well organised means you don't lose anything.That's OCD to me, Organised & Cleanliness Department. Take Care my Friend, Barry from England.

+Barry Roberts I like that acronym. I might have to use that one. A clean shop definitely equates to a safer shop and that's been proven. I just hate having to go around searching for tools. I like things in their place so that when I want them, they are there. Now if I can only keep my glasses in their place so I can stop searching for them every time I need to read a measurement. LOL. Thanks for tuning in Barry. It's great to hear from you.

Came across this today looking for ideas to organize my screwdriver drawer. Thanks for the tip of magnets on the bottom, saves making a plate to cross the bridge. Only thing I plan to do different is put a matching finish on them when done. :)

Cool little project. And I wouldn't call it OCD, I'd call it organized.:) I'm the same way, which drives my wife nuts since I'm always picking up her stuff too. I recently bought a bunch of travel soap containers so I could organize misc drill & impact bits. Without taking the time to clean and organize my shop, I can't get anything done...LOL I usually do it after a project, but occasionally during if its starting to bother me.

Excellent solution. Perhaps you can add a dab of coloured paint to your wood and a coloured heat shrink sleeve to your screwdriver shaft. A different colour for each driver, you can spot the correct position quicker.

I did mine by making two of the handle holders and two tip holder these two holders hold my common screwdrivers in the right hand drawer and Phillips in the left each rack is held apart by 3/8 hardwood dowel but my really long drivers have to lay on the sides because they will not fit cross ways. I know I could buy a new and bigger Tool Box. But I have three roll-ways already. Having to many tools sucks but it's better then the other option.

+john gibson That is the 52" box. I love it. Plenty of room for my tools and it allowed me to get rid of the peg board in my shop. There isn't much to say about a tool box tour. I haven't really got it organized the way I like it yet. I've only had it a couple of months. Once everything is in it's final resting place, a tool box tour might not be a bad show idea. They're going to shift if you shut the drawer too fast. If I was to let my OCD take over, I'd run a couple dowels throw both of them and protruding enough in the rear to properly space the rack from the back of the drawer. Great video though thanks.

Why are the handles in the back, I would think the handles would be placed near the opening? Several other videos have shown it the way you have done it. Trying to figure out what I am missing. Overall a nice tip.
@acutabove_woodworkings
@acutabove_woodworkings 8 жыл бұрын
It's all about personal preference. Handles to the front or handles to the back. Neither is wrong. I personally, prefer to see the driver tip so that I know which one I am grabbing. Other folks prefer to see the markings on the handles, but not all screwdrivers have handle markings. I hope this answers your question. Thanks for tuning in and for taking the time to leave me a comment.

I'm not sure of the exact year. I'd have to look it up but most likely from the late 80's to early 90's. My father had a rough time with the saw and could never get it to work right. He finally gave it to me out of frustration and all it needed was a little calibrating. After some calibration, the saw worked flawlessly after that. Thanks for the kind words on my show. Wouldn't it be better to turn it around so could grab the handle instead of the shank safety first
@acutabove_woodworkings
@acutabove_woodworkings 5 жыл бұрын
If that would be your preference Bill, then there is nothing wrong with that. For me personally, I prefer to see the shank so that I know which one I am getting. I have problems seeing the end of the handle and what type of driver it is, so I need to rely on seeing the tip of the driver to identify it. It's just my personal preference and it is solely guided by my aging eyesight. LOL. Thanks for tuning in to the show and for taking the time to chime in with your suggestion/opinion. I think that it depends on what you want to do with it. There really isn't an "all in one" as they each have their own purpose but if I were to go with just one plane, it would have to be a Veritas #5 bench plane. www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.aspx?p=45156&cat=1,41182,41186,45156 You will find that as time goes on however, you will want to add more specific planes for specific jobs.

Well thanks a lot for pointing out a design flaw. Now I have to redesign the entire thing to avoid cattywompus infestation throughout the screwdriver drawer. LOL. Thanks for tuning in.

The funny part is that in Canada, we are a metric country. I grew up in the era where the imperial system was first and foremost and we were introduced as the test project, into the metric system. I just never shook the imperial form of measurement but I still hold strong to temperatures in Celsius, distance in Kilometres etc. I just can't shake the imperial. ha ha ha ha ha. I'm from a mixed up and torn generation.

kennyearrings1 as a Canadian in his early 30s I was only taught metric, yet for some reason measure short distances in feet and inches, couldn't tell ya how tall I am in meters, or what I weigh in kilos, I'm 145lbs 5'8 and I live a kilometre from the nearest store, and buy a two litre pop, lol

A 9:40 yes you can, but it will not be to specification.

Fair enough. I guess technically, you could drill at any point in time that you want. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Who need specs as long as you are having fun. Thanks for tuning in and for taking the time to leave me a comment.

Where did you get that neat looking measuring tool?
@acutabove_woodworkings
@acutabove_woodworkings 4 жыл бұрын
@@glennwood1119 The measure tool that you are referring to is called a T-Rule and is manufactured by INCRA. They can be found at most woodworking suppliers. Lee Valley sells them or they are also available directly from INCRA. I hope this helps. You can find my 2013 review of them here. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rYvSYYJtdp6Gp5Y

Keep err going Kenny ... You have some good ideas ... I have 30-40 screw drivers in my draw,,, so this won't do it for me ... Ha

No worries. I have no intention of stopping the show. With 30 or 40 screwdrivers, this idea just wouldn't work. I have probably 100+ screwdrivers, but I have them elsewhere and these ones in the drawer are my main, "goto" screwdrivers. Looking forward to future comments from you.
