I think one great thing about your "long recordings" is that generally people doing these podcasts are either hailing from an upper class family or have forgotten their roots. So their advices/thoughts are influenced by what we'd LIKE to listen to but are, in fact, not what we need. You, on the other hand, Kenny have thoughts that are much more relatable to your audience and are, therefore, realistic. These podcasts are almost therapeutic. #simpleken

24:05 I read about this in Perks Of Being A Wallflower and I found it really interesting... The thing about pain and depression is that it can't be measured. It's not a relative quantity. You might be going through a tough time and your friend might be having a worse time, but that doesn't change the fact that you're still stuck with your problems. So if you're depressed and someone else is poor, that doesn't change the fact that you're still depressed. So focus on your issues, don't deny your problems and always, ALWAYS talk about issues regarding your mental health because your mental health is just as important as your physical health :)

This is very true. I was once having a conversation about trauma with someone and the person was trying to one-up me stating that their experience makes them more traumatized than I am. It was a very weird and funny conversation like a d**k measuring contest - but for trauma lol Someone who has fallen down the stairs may have the same quality of emotional pain as another who has been, say, in combat war (I've experienced combat war if that matters). Emotional pain depends on people's personal perspectives and interpretations. I don't know, just my two cents on the matter.

Since you've started speaking about mental health, it's like you're talking to me exactly about what's going wrong in life and gives me a very helpful and much needed perspective. Hey, Ken. Big fan here! You are right, I'm one of those fans of yours who have had come to your shows, followed you for quite a few years but never commented and in your last episode when you pointed that out it felt like you are talking to me in person like a friend! And if I have to talk to your in person as a real friend, the only question I'd ask you is how are you doing? Not a superficial 'how are you?' But like how are you really doing currently in life? What are the conflicting issues going in your mind currently? How are you dealing with them? PS - Love this long recording of yours. Just want to remind you that your performative self might take over this honest self of yours during the talking in this format cause it's long, you'd feel like falling back to jokes but please, show us your honest self so we relate to you and feel that you are just another human and we can also get to the point where you are in whatever job we are doing. We ain't caring about your jokes here, for that we can check your standup videos/shows ;) Pps - I know you ain't giving advices but just share your experiences, we are learning through them. :)

The best part of this your long recording of you talking is your smile or a chuckle or a hearty laugh when you say things that you either mean from your heart or you find funny. The way you deliver jokes or even discuss issues or talk about them half the battle is won by the way you talk. No one would get bored even if this video would be like 2 hrs long. Atleast i won't. Your way of talking reflects your nature and temperament. it shows instantly that you are very nice and grounded person with core values. i have been following you ever since you started youtube and standup comedy. Hey Kenny :) I’ve been watching these long recordings of you talking because I love to watch your expressions along with your voice. It’s just bonus! Don’t ever stop doing these. You’re one wise man and the more I hear you, the more connected I feel. Your experiences and the manner with which you deal certain issues is an outlook which I didn’t even know I needed. I’m just sitting here appreciating what a gem of a human you are. I listened to that segment on break ups twice. Each line hits different. It takes a lot of courage and emotional maturity to force yourself to go through the ugly emotions and the aftermath of a breakup. To sit with oneself and not fuck around trying to fill that void with fake superficial stuff. I’ve loved you as a comedian but my respect and liking for you as a human has multiplied tenfold! You’re raw and authentic even on social media, with your audience. That’s rare, Kenny! Keep doing these please, they’re almost therapeutic. Hugs 🤗

Hi Kenny, its amazing how a simple pod- I mean, a long recording of you talking can make people so connected. Thank you for creating this. You've (unfortunately, and unwittingly) shared brilliant advice here as well. I've never really commented on videos before but this comment, right here, shows how you've created an impact. On that note, here are 3 random questions: 1. I know you said the questions don't need to be related to relationships but I'm curious to know your thoughts on this: how far do you think one should go to save a relationship? What's a deal breaker for you? 2. What's your all time favourite animated movie and TV show, and why? 3. How does one exactly make "good" friends and then maintain the friendship? #SimpleKen

Hi Kenny, rewatcher/ relistener here (not my best self-intro, sorry). Favorite part about this one was the validation of grief over a breakup. Most people are like, "It depends on you, you can get over it when you WANT to" and that just isn't true. Breakup pain is real and moreover, healing is NOT linear. You can start getting better and then the smallest trigger and you're back to square one. Well, good for us, humans are wired to get over death, so this can't be impossible. Another thing I wanna add is that your analogy of happiness is absolutely fucking genius. Not just for a relationship, but for everything in life. We have all got SO MUCH to be grateful for always. Kenny, if you've been reading my comments, you'll know that your recordings have already been helping me so damn much. Thanks, man, genuinely.

Time heals everything what i feel in this context is when things happened to us from that moment to the time we healed ourselves. How time plays part in that process You gone through various emotional stages without that person and Realizing the fact you were occupied most of the time in 24 hours with that person for years/months and to cope up and fill that void, Depending upon how much time you spent together physically, emotionally etc is directly proportional to the time you required to fill yourself with new memories and other things which makes you grow in life. And the best part about this long recording is that it's so lite and chilled kind of. Feels like I'm having a conversation with one of my friends. That's all I wanted to say. Thank you. 😊

not funny at all. silly in fact. slam poets can be funny too but funny people cannot do slam poetry. dont comment on slam poetry if it is beyond your league.

One of the things i've enjoyed about listening to these long recordings is that you're genuinely self-aware. I'm now an old fart, but as a young guy I was in a long distance relationship for 5 years and the moment she moved back and we were in the same country, we split... :D It's funny, because a year later we decided to get back together, get married and have been for the last 4 years now. My point is, the reason long distance tends to fail is, you forget why you guys felt the need to stay together, because of the distance. If you can stop the bickering and just be 2 honest ppl, ego's aside and work together, you can really bring the spark back. Like any real relationship, where sparks aren't around forever, you need to work to keep it alive, it's the only way it stays truly enriching for a long period of time.

there are actually so many insights in all the simpleken videos he's doing a good job of "not giving advice" and doing an even better job of addressing relevant questions in a way that provokes thinking; instead of the traditional sense of giving advice. it's less narrow and allows us to form our own stance while also taking in his. this is prolly why his actual following is engaging more with this content. love you bro keep going

I think the guilt over complaining about small things, while living in a previleged life, is from the constant comparison that was told to us when growing up, like kids don't have food to eat so eat up everything. This is also used by authoritarian rulers to show how much better the citizens conditions are compared to the worst case scenario. We definitely have to overcome this mimdset

Hi Kenny, great work! Here’s a little extra 2 cents on your take for dealing with pain - I recently read that, “Good judgement comes from bad experiences, that comes from bad judgement.” No matter how much we hear about dealing with pain, every human might have their own journey and coping mechanisms - which only become apparent in retrospect.

Can't believe this sweet /funny guy who cracked joke on me and my friends in Hokey Cokey Bangalore half a decade back sounds more like an introvert now with little dark side 😮😎... xoxo 😊 Damn you're like this responsible good friend in a group. Thank you for doing this episode wherein you're almost present like a virtual friend! Good job. 🤗
