Kennywood's Steel Curtain is CLOSED AGAIN?

I've heard rumors that this closure was due to a crack in a support beam, like the one on Fury 325.

While its down at least you can walk lik 2 minutes, and get on the best hyper coaster in the world let us just hope that the second best hyper in the world (in my humble opinion) re opens soon

It doesn’t look good.. Apparently it’ll be weeks before it reopens. I’m hearing rumors a wheel fell off? Take that with a grain of salt, I don’t know how true it is. But there was a banging noise when the train went through the sea serpent roll… so idk.

It's always shut down, everytime I go to kennywood it's closed. I have NOT ridden the Steel Curtain yet! 😢

I rode it like 7 times in a row one day because of how dead it was (and this was very recent.) And in total I’ve rode Curtain about 16 times. Those are 16 times that 16 people could’ve rode the ride for their first time but couldn’t because when they entered the park all excited to go run back there and ride the ride finally, they came upon a yellow and black sorry closed sign and a guy standing there saying that it won’t open for the day. I understand typical breakdowns, but this is not just a breakdown and I can reassure you that. Whatever is going on, it seems Curtain will have to live with it for the rest of its existence at Kennywood Park.

It only was down once last year and thia is the 1st this year. Ive heard multiple people say its never open for them, but ive never had that problem.

I was kind of exaggerating there, but you are right, mostly it’s only like a good maybe 14-21 days of downtime (and typically it’s consistently closed for like 3 weeks in a row instead of just being closed randomly) So you’re right there.

Log Jammer was a lot more reliable than Steel Curtain. Maybe they should pay for it to whoever they sold it to, or go find it wherever it’s at right now and take all the scrap parts and put it back together. That’s probably a lot less expensive than Steelers Country as a whole.

Sometime in June I went and there was literally no line, I rode the coaster 7 times in a row without waiting at all.

I believe it is just going through one of the larger inspections on the ride and should be opened rather soon, for I just heard Maintenance and I presume that means there just doing some mid season check-ups on the ride and making sure the ride is still it tip top shape, Curtain is a 90% reliable coaster I barley ever see down as someone who goes weekly I see it running more than not, in fact I think I've seen phantom haver more weird problems as of lately. Spinvasion is not a prototype the prototype is over in Vancouver Canada at a park called PNE Playland. Curtain is here to stay its there top coaster and at least to my knowledge its been a mostly reliable and good coaster that as far as I am aware I thought I heard payed for its self off during its first year aka 2019

The model of Spinvasion is a prototype, it is a newer ride model. The exact ride is not.

I was at the park 7/2 for the 1st time since 2011, even a week earlier I just assumed it wouldn't be open, and not to any surprise it wasn't 🙄. Oddly enough I didn't feel like I was missing anything though

When Curtain is closed, there’s still one other king of Kennywood that is open (with the longest line you could imagine due to their other major coaster being closed 😂)

First I would like to say I'm one of those Steel Curtain obsessees. Like seriously, I can't get enough of Curtain. I've been there 3 times since it opened, and I think my total approaching like 7 or 8 rides because I spend half my day just at Steel Curtain. Definitely my favorite ride, yes ride period not just coaster, at the park, my home park bein from West Virginia. Second, personally I think Steel Curtain will steel, no pun intended, be there as is in 2029. Hopefully I'm right

Steel curtian ain’t safe last time I was at kw I saw the whole structure of suports shake for the 3rd inversion whenever the train was on the 3rd inversion

All rollercoasters and amusement rides shake, there is nothing unsafe about Steel Curtain shaking. When high movement is happening on the tracks, it’ll vibrate and the supports may shake. I can reassure you, Steel Curtain IS safe. That’s completely normal in its design.
