Between these two I love the mafex version. That's a forever keeper in my collection. I may have liked Ben Affleck Batman in Batman v Superman and not so much in Justice League, but his basic batsuit in Justice League looks way better and kind of a cleaner version of the Batman v Superman basic batsuit. Plus the gray is darker and I like that.

Same, The mafex looks much better, much truer to the movie batfleck. I purchased the SH Keaton one recently and it is actually one inch smaller than the neca batman one and it really shows. Considering the cost of the SH figures, they are dissapointing. I discovered the mafex ones by accident. The joints on the mafex ones are not as good, same as the Neca Batman vs the "remake" import. But it makes a good display model though!

@@darrenc2721 thank you for sharing. When you brought up the Batman 1989 figure, I got the sh version of that and I couldn't be more satisfied in my personal opinion. I'm now retired from collecting comics and action figures, but I made sure I got the 89 sh Bat figure first. For years I've always wanted the perfect Keaton Batman figure and in my opinion sh really nailed it.

I fixed the torso for the sh figuarts Batman, and it looks great. It’s the ball peg that’s the problem, you should replace his ballpeg with the BVS maffex batman give the short peg to the maffex Batman so that his torso isn’t ridiculously long, then I put some plastic in the socket so that the ball pegs would fit in, and after that, they look fantastic. The only downside to the sh figuarts fig is that he doesn’t come with much, but to be fair, the grenade launcher wasn’t in the justice league movie

I mean batman does knock out thugs sometimes with single blows so to me it makes sense that sh has a bigger build,I prefer the sh in my opinion, I mean I like the whole black suit of mafex, but it's almost impossible to see the bat symbol, and the sh is more similar to the bvs suit which I prefer then the darker justice league one

Ken ooohh wee great photography at the end... I like the mafex look a lot better but dislike the loose joints. And it sucks to see that they still have not improved. And with figuarts the look is funny looking but it does not loosen up on the joints even months later. Plus there's a KZbin video where it explains how to change the sh figuarts torso joint to make it taller. .. for me I might have to say sh figuarts for the easy fix and tight joints. But really which ever of the two is cheapest when I'm ready to buy on will be the winner. As always thanks for the content.

@@kenohwee The shf batman's forearms can be pulled a little(slowly & carefully with bent arm) so he has now elbow/bicep swivel, cross his arms, bent like mafex double jointed elbows and looks longer too. Saw it in oneposeman instagram. Also if you turn his abs backwards bats can do an extreme ab crunch. Iron man pose no problem. The bat cape hides the abs from behind hehe. Youre reviews are great and fun thanks.

i bought a mattel figure yesterday, £6!! (im in the UK) its the suicide squad Boomerang figure, i wish DC Collectibles did DC Movie figures in the same style as their tv figures. dont know why they dont. if they did i wouldnt go near Mattel. Anyway, i just cant justify paying silly money for a 6 inch figure, i saw a spiderman figure from sh figuarts i think, couldve been mafex, on a uk website, selling for £117!!!!, i wouldnt pay that even if i could.

Bro it's totally worth it I.M.O but it's a subjective thing and only you can decide for yourself. I can tell you there is a world of difference between a standard TOY line like what Mattel offers and what a high end company like Mafex or Figuarts delivers for the collector community. The old adage you get what you pay for is very true. Take for example Suicide Squad Harley Quinn. I bought the Mattel figure because it was the first one out and I loved the character and desperately wanted a representation of her on my shelf. It was an ok TOY buy looked nothing like the actress and lacked the paint details and articulation I wanted. As soon as the Figuarts came out I bought that and was blown away. It was like having a mini version of the actress on my shelf. The way I feel now is id be embarrassed to have the Mattel figure on my shelf and have someone see it. It's a good toy for a kid but as a representation of a character for a collector the only way to go is with a high end piece from a high end company. To get the quality I demand for my collection I normally pay between $60 and $120 per figure. It all depends on the company the scale and availability. Some older pieces that are no longer in circulation or con exclusives especially of anime characters could cost well over $200 on sites like EBay or Amazon. Sorry for being long winded but in the end I think high end is totally the way to go and the enjoyment you get from a great piece makes it worth the money. But again only you know whats right for you. I recommend you at least buy one highend piece and see how you like it. Anyway I hope that helps and good luck...

Hi there, thanks for the suggestion, I would normally do that if I was able to get the mattel figures but unfortunately it's not very popular here in Australia and the cost would also be just about half the price as a mafex figure would be, Mattel figures ($40) and Mafex ($80) but as mentioned by Toy Man 1976 in great detail, you're getting what you're paying for, the only line that I know that would actually challenge some of the higher end toy line would actually be Marvel Legends with some of their figures really pulling off extremely well sculpted figure, with plenty of articulation and accessories, and unfortunately Mattel just isn't there yet to be even considered as an action figure, the sculpt and likeness is just way off, the articulation is totally lacking, and very few accessories, at this point they're playing catch up with Marvel Legends, but at the end of the day, it's all based on personal preference

The sculpt on the mafex is wayyy better, however the build quality and articulation on the sh figuart has it beat hands down. Were the mafex only $5-10 more than the figuart, fine. But $20 more, and it's still suffering from loose joints? Fuck outta here. For $80 all the joints should be tight and the Cape should have bendy wire in it.
