You can beat the cannibals they are not strong you could get them when you were in the tower there was a lot of green which means you were don't a lot of damage

Actually, he couldn't, the initial green was from the tech hunter's first strike(s), one unlucky hit to an already injured area (such as what happened with sen) and he would have lost one of his characters since he didn't have time to heal everybody up to full. Also, the way combat in kenshi works, being overwhelmed number wise means that any hit could cause a character to stumble (especially since cannibals use clubs as opposed to cutting type weapons) creating many more opportunity attacks from the enemy which would be nigh indefensible.
