i would try to aggree with you, if the game would have a multiplayer mode lol... it has not even got the automation propperly down without help of some mods, and its still lacking in the autosell department. you can have games like kenshi, with way less pain in the ass, if you're like me and love to see the progress and the impact you can have on this environment, you're better off playing X4foundations, cause this developer abondend the game, right after he implemented all the assets of third party artists, without finishing his own pathfinding job. the entire lore is written by his wife and he has the audacity to think about a kenshi 2 while the normal kenshi only sticks together with glue and comunity efford lol.... it's code is so messie, that not even the modders can fix it propperly, example time or "Rant" if you will: shopsigns, that actually allow to set up hotels, connected to the building a way to increase npc traffic with gamegiven reputation mechanics that do not involve mods? a propper Reputation mechanic? how many times have i accidently clicked a door, or forgotten to pull out a man from a store, resulting in everyone in town is murdering my people and the barkeeper never again trades with me? so many frustrating forced reloads of a savefile, ontop of that bit*ch crashing on its own twice an hour? the pathfinding... holy moly, how many times, have i visited the western hives, while micromanaging the stupid city with a squad of 10 people, just to find out, that on the middle of the road, some of them just stopped walking or even better, the groupe thinks its a wise idea to split up into 2 5 man groups, surrounded by beakthings. sorry man but, kenshi is not as romantic as you think it is once you visited games that had a similar rpg exploration automation settlement building cycle and praising about the glory of getting beaten up alone instead of with friends in a game that doesnt even have a multiplayer option is realy not backing up your argument here. that is a ballancing issue at best and not an intended feature lol. heck, these funky difficultie sliders in your options menu, hasn't even been implemented by the developers themself xD kenshi is the biggest boger out of your nose, rolled in dirt and dust, and the devs say, everything that sticks is part of it. almost like with skyrim, "it just works" besides, it doesnt actually work 90% of the times. the code doesnt even allow modders to fix most common issues. why can't i have controll 1 to controll 0 for fast access to squad members? why do you have to shift + leftclick every single picture of the squad in order to have them selected? do we realy have to play the game in its greatest moments, the fast action fights in a permanent pause state, in order to manage the dudes in a combat? why does it feel like cheating to use a crossbow? xDD i could go on for hours like this. don't get me wrong, i see where you're comming from with what you say, the game has its very unique charm, wich other games have too, (Rainworld for example, wich does the same thing in regards of how hard the game can be, it trys to sell that bullshit as intended too.) but its UI, controlls and AI is horrific and mods alone can only do so mutch to cover up the mess kenshi is underneath.

@@BlackRainEntertain To stop 50% of crashes, turn off auto saving. To stop getting pathing issues 50% of the time, tell all of your squad to bodyguard the leader of the squad and only move the leader. To stop "accidentally clicking a door" don't play on fast forward with your brain off. Try stopping your units before they break the door entirely. A few hits does nothing. Reputation issues from your accident? Use the save mechanic... Not a single person gives a fuck about romantic Kenshi gameplay. The game is about racist slavers and people getting skinned and eaten alive. "Why cant you have 1 control for fast access to squad members"? Try hitting the ~ key......... "Why does it feel like cheating to use a crossbow"? It doesn't. You have no idea what cheating feels like in Kenshi. You want multiplayer in the game that has the ability to fast forward/pause time??? You want "autosell"? What the actual fuck are you talking about? You also somehow are complaining about Skyrim? The most modded game in the history of games? The game that has had LITERALLY EVERYTHING changed/added/fixed by modders? You also managed to misspell shit in nearly every single part of your comment. 20:14 Usually what I do is select both Medic first then do the rescue task afterwards, but if I have enough people and beds set up, I will sometimes set up some sort of "rescue" squads who are passive. Their only goal is to find and bring people back to a safer place, then heal them. I simply just set rescue first then medic afterwards. It's great when you have a decent amount of people, have a base laid down or some beds within a town, and live in dangerous places (pretty much everywhere tbh), because you can get your downed characters to a safer place to be healed up, saving you a bit more on resources and a potential death within your group. Keep in mind, that sometimes your "rescue" squad can get attacked while going into the heat of a battle, but that's why it's important to have multiple in the squad because if one gets attacked, another can simply fulfill the role for them. This is personally my go-to strat when assigning medical roles in this game, and it's usually recommended if you have roots in a place rather than being a wanderer. Also, another important thing about the "rescue" squad. Make sure they have a decent amount of strength. This is to keep them from being bogged down and taking forever to get the fallen character to safety, seeing how timing is everything when there's a life on the line. Keep this squad in light/no armor gear, and give them sandals or any other clothes that give a bonus in athletics. Sorry for the chunk of a paragraph, but I hope this can be useful for someone.

I have 900 hours and I have never even thought of starting out like that. I literally just go start a fight with the bar thug. Take his shit, sell it. Leave the hub, try to Agro a bandit or squad, lose them, then just sneak behind them cuz sneaking near enemies that have have a red icon when u hover over it gives you stealth skill in absurd quantities. Go to squin at night, try to break in. Use thievery xp cheese to power level it. Take expensive shit. Then leave and sell it off at the hub. By day 2 you could possibly have level 50 stealth, level 50 thievery, and over 20,000 cats.

@declancampbell12776 ай бұрын
i mean thats kinda the point no? you have 900 hours, noobs dont. I do the same but instead of robbing squin i just go to narkos trap and you can net 100k instead. If you aggro the huge band of hungry bandits that spawn in skinners roam you can also level that stealth to about 75 in under 3 irl minutes. As a noob my experience is completely different though, and what we do to save time removes a core part of the early game experience that new players should experience. We probably have at least a dozen playthroughs under our belts, i myself have several hundred hours, but some of my most fun as a new player was struggling to survive, struggling to feed my guys, starting an outpost too early and getting absolutely ruined etc. This guide preserves the early game experience for noobs while also giving them a little headstart and explaining some mechanics, which is why i rate it so highly.

Not gonna lie, it's a pretty good guide, but personally I cannot recommend the ''stumbling your way into success'' approach enough, if there's ANY part of Kenshi that almost always results in me putting my whole playthrough on ice it's when there's anything to do with base building or base management. Not that there's anything particularly difficult about it but it has a tendency to basically suck any fun out of a game that's pretty much based on the idea of emergent gameplay. Getting people knocked out or enslaved and having to mount a rescue is usually part of the fun, but when it happens 6 hours into your 3 day construction and management spree and so many things are hinging on supply runs being successful etc. It all just turns into a slog. Personally if I started with this I don't think I would have gotten into Kenshi. Going in blind and just spending my first hours cluelessly wandering around, scavenging battlefields, trying and often failing to fight things, trying and often failing to steal things resulting in all kinds of funny shenanigans, which is what Kenshi is all about, I think at least for me was the optimal path to take, because it kept me coming back to learn more. I'd argue Kenshi is actually pretty intuitive to learn, there aren't a lot of super complicated systems here, it all really boils down to ''get out there and do stuff'' and everything follows some kind of logic. The game will tell you things you need to know through in game interactions. Got strip searched by the guards at the gate? That's the game telling you that selling contraband is a thing here, and you can make A LOT of money doing this. What Kenshi wants you to do more than anything is what I call ''thinking like a hobo''. If you were left to fend for yourself, with basically nothing to your name, what are the things you could do to survive? And it's all pretty logical stuff, stealing is fairly easy, lockpicking requires no extra items, and with enough patience you can pick any lock in the game. There are obvious places to sell your contraband and stolen items, an obvious time and place to steal things, and even if you fail and get dumpstered by some shop guard chances are you get to try again, and no matter what you do, as long as you don't lose your limbs and bleed to death or get eaten alive, you'll get a chance to try again. When kenshi knocks you out and leaves you lying unconscious in the hot desert sand it's not telling you to quit, it's telling you to wake the fuck up because you got kingdoms to burn and drugs to smuggle. Oh and there is one mod you can't do without, and that's the map with roads, roads being visible on the map somewhat spoils some locations but there's really only one thing you can do about AI pathing bugging out, and you can only do it if you can actually see the proper path to take on the map.

Thank you for the long and very insightful comment, and for taking the time to write all that out means alot, I think its a very fickle line to properly get started in kenshi without trivializing critical parts of organic learning process just because of how insanely unique it is to anything else you can find, it does a wonderful job of following a "Harsh, but fair" presentation. I think the only major flaw of kenshi is that it is wide as a ocean but deep as a puddle, going in blind can be rough because of this, most certainly with combat. I truly believe if most players start off knowing how to train up fighters at the very least, the rest of the game will teach them naturally better than any guide ever can. Base building on the other hand is the worst new player trap I've ever seen and is a whole different beast itself, which is why as of right now I'm halfway done with my Silly Goobers Guide to base building.

I don’t like the idea that he had been making Kenshi videos before knowing what kenshi is and than watching those videos to understand how to play the game…

this is the go to for new players. I personally don't do the mining anymore at the start and go straight for scavenging in bast, but this was also my first start and how I learned to enjoy the game.

In regards to gaining toughness from standing while near enemies after a knockout, sometimes quickly playing dead and standing up again can be rapidly repeated a few times while they're still in range, which will give the same gain each time. I don't really recommend it for a first play because it's a little exploity, but not too terrible IMO.
@MartyrDumb10 ай бұрын
Can you force the play dead? I know with enough toughness you can start to get up pretty rapidly in almost 10 second intervals just by getting hit as long as the damage isn't too high.

There _are_ probably just a few MODs that I think are a must for this game. *Slopless.* _You're not having to find that perfectly level area of land to place a building down on._ *Nice Map [Zones + Zone names + Roads].* _Does what is says. It's a personal choice but makes the map better looking for me._ *SCAR's Pathfinding FIX (Vanilla roading).* _Stops your person/people, wandering about on stupid routes when you need to go from "A" to "B" and they do that, but via "C" and "D" too._ *Reduced Weather Effects.* _It doesn't stop it raining. But it means your games frame rates are not going to stutter and almost come to a stand still. Especially if you're in the swamp or the Deadlands._ *Water Optimizer.* _A graphical help and makes the game better to run and water looks like water._ *Compressed Textures Project.* _Has a similar effect as the "Reduced Weather Effects" making the game run a lot smoother._ *And best of all, NONE of the above MOD's actually affect the way the vanilla game plays.* *Good video.* And in all my nigh on 300 hours of play _(Pathetic! I know!),_ I always just had one or two in my groups who'd be assigned as medics/Robotics people. I just never thought to have the whole squad being able to do it. *_But it makes 100% sense._* _So that's something I've learnt._ Thank you! 👍
