You should go back and watch the series Deeks was alot more skilled than people gave him credit for he didn't mess around when Kensi was kidnapped and put 2 bullets in Sullivan's head and was the one who always had her back and made feel more confident in herself in other aspects of her life besides just the job

And Deeks was only hospitalised once on a mission when he got the bad concussion in Mexico, he wasn't even on the job when he got shot but got his ass out of bed to save Kensi's butt
