..like writing a movie, then shooting it in one take.. just the amount of calculation that must go into every note and every transition, no missed opportunities, no missed details, no compromises _on anything,_ yet everything all at the same time, *from a box with strings.* We've arrived; this is it, the ultimate, logical conclusion of "playing the guitar". I mean, what else is there - making it beatbox, or talk to animals? If, as a species, we stopped everything else we're doing right now and began beaming this channel into space with all the power we can muster, we might finally have justified our existence to the cosmos, is all. "Playing the guitar". One thing we've definitely got down pat.

Another reason why I love your arrangements, Kent, is because other guitarists, particular jazz musicians, reharmonize and add so much to the song that I can't even tell what's going on. I don't understand any of the complex, over-the-top intellectual musical stuff going, and that's coming from someone who has a basic grasp of music theory already. I love how sweet and concise your covers are-- nothing overly intellectual or jazzy, just the good ol' song perfectly recreated, with all the details, as the original sounds. Keep doing what you do!
@rienvannoort47862 жыл бұрын
other (jazz) guitarist cannot do this .. this guy is totally unique.. we are witnessing something really special here..ive been playing guitar over 45 years and have seen a lot of the great (fingerstyle) players but no one can come close to this guy... just compare tuck andress his version.. then u know what i mean

became obsessed guitar when I watched SRV's "Texas Flood" live at El Mocambo performance back in 2007. watching Kent this past year is the only other time I've been truly in awe of someone playing guitar. a lot of amazing players out there today, but this man is a legendary talent. hope we all realize what we're witnessing here

Kent, you combine an immersive technical fluency with such FEEL and TOUCH. You give your tunes that deep groove without sacrificing lightness. I am so glad I happened upon your video today and will continue following your channel. 🙏💜🇺🇸

You gotta go back and watch everything else. They're literally *all* this good. It's hard to pick a favorite.

I would imagine this would have to be 10 out of 10 on the guitar difficulty scale. There is no way to overstay how talented this guy is

Kent continues to amaze. I can't imagine what it's like to be listening to the radio and be like, 'oh, yeah, I can arrange that into a perfect solo acoustic piece' and then execute like this. A joy to behold.

Seriously one of the most impressive arrangements I have ever heard/seen. Michael would be so proud and happy.
