Habiba, this is common in Black Churches. The intent is to help others not fall in the same situation. I've always felt the male partner should do the same. If the teenage girl was voluntary, then maybe not so bad. But definitely a teachable moment. I Pray she wanted to speak to the congregation.

Hi Habiba and Kenton. Kenton I didn’t know you were skirts 😂. Love these types of discussions. My prayers and heart goes out to everyone who has loss someone or everything due to the fires ❤. So much going on so far around in the year. As for the wife it’s about money and to tarnish his name. We didn’t need to know that information. As for the Nurse, I have not been able to read up on it yet. If this woman harmed these babies she should be locked up and her nursing license be taken away. This is very disturbing and evil.

@Kenton-Habiba There is a non denomination church that believes that fully. I used to attend such a church and I left because of some of there rules. They completely take the scriptures of of context. This is going back, for me, thirty four years ago. That church is still going strong. It is very sad. This church and its members fully believe in this stuff and other stuff that makes no sense and is not based on the love of God. In these non denominational churches the women do not have any say so. The men are the only ones that make decisions regardless of the issues. I was in that non denominational church for 13 years before I left. I saw this done to a members adopted daughter. They stopped talking to her until she repented.

So, I do not like what the Pastor did to the 17 pregnant young woman, here are the scriptures to support the practice of public repentance: 1 Timothy 5:20: Commands that those who commit sins be publicly rebuked 2 Chronicles 7:14: Affirms corporate confession as a model for the Jews Ezra 9-10: Ezra confesses the sins of the people Jonah: The Ninevites proclaim a fast and put on sackcloth Matthew 18:15-17: Outlines a three-step process for dealing with sin, including bringing the matter before the church if it cannot be resolved privately. The practice is intended to dissuade sin as defined in the Bible.
