Crap, forgot to put a valve in it. Crap again, I just dropped the valve inside the tire. Now I've got to pull the tire off again. Should have put the valve in first.

Hello; I have Ken tool bead breaker that looks a lot like a sledgehammer, but want to know how to use it. Is there a video on it, or can you tell me how it works? Tanks

I bought this tool at my local auto parts store very early in my automotive/later tire career, thinking I could use it on my car tire, not really, it's more for truck/bus/agricultural equipment, I have only recently begun to use it along with a rubber capped sledge hammer (#52722)...(no metal to metal contact)...if your application is cars and light trucks, you might be able to use a slide hammer type bead breaker, but I still like to use a "bead buster" along with it.

Works fine if the tire and rim are laying on the ground but a single vice grip works easier, never has to be moved and can be used with the rim on the tractor still plus many other uses as well. No thanks ill keep doing it the right way.

Right way? NEVER use vise grips (we all do!) A third hand/ helping hand is the tool to use, and like vise grips can be used on the machine. Plus they dont dangerously fly off the rim like vise grips!

@@roberttill3787 Mike has all the answers. He's written on other comments here. He's vitriolic. Got an axe or tire iron to grind I guess. I do tires. Not a road service truck guy, but have retrieved break downs many times including tire problems. Even I can see why the special tool can help. I also see why using two bead holders and moving one can help. Mikey doesn't like it. That's how it is. Everyone has their own preference. Mike you can do what you've been doing. It works for you and you're satisfied. That's good for you. God Bless

@@johnnytacokleinschmidt515 I have done agricultural and industrial tyres for years, and frankly quite often try to do them on the machine. I am used to that, and usually do it with two tyre irons, with no need to resort to vise grips to hold the tyre. I was taught by old school tyre fitters who really knew their trade. Mike says hes happy doing it the "right" way, but the use of vise grips is NOT the right way. Still it works for Mike.

@@roberttill3787 I'm sensitive to the idea of too many tools and gadgets and gimicry. I think that's where Mike is at. But I see Ken-Tools as a leader and innovator. They see a way to beat a problem such as the wide tire and deep rim combo especially when doing the lower or inner bead. The two bead holders is advantageous especially for guys like me who aren't highly experienced expert tire guys. No need to bring negativity to their channel as I sensed M did. The tool works smoothly. It's been sold for many years. Their 37" truck tire bar is copied everywhere. You know. Blah blah blah. Just my opinion. Besides all of that.... I Enjoy tire work. It really solves problems for people. Skidsteers down on the job. Truck tires blown out on curbs. Lawn equipment and hand trucks with flat tires that won't bead. Snow tire installation in northern New York or Northeast. And plain old mount and balance 4 new tires with steering, suspension, ride control and alignment work as needed. Like getting a new car.
