Mike Woodson will leave the IU bench at the end of the season, and the coach who follows him will need to be selected from a group that does not include the usual suspects - Pearl, Cronin, Pitino, etc...
Indiana Basketball deserves a coach who fits the program - not a coach who will demand the program fits him!

I would think Indiana is smart enough to put some type of stipulation in his contract to cover their own ass. If Beard were to get in trouble then make it to where he won’t get paid out a dime. Beard has been punished enough publicly and by losing his job at Texas. Dude has been shamed and shamed over and over. Beard is the perfect fit. Guy breathes Knights philosophy and what a better way to surround him in the place Bobby built!

I felt that Chris Beard was the answer years back and stated so on your post…As I recall, you doubted why Beard would be interested?….fair point I suppose….I think that the coach at Iowa State is a good one…I also think that the SLU coach is a very good coach that could do well at IU…I’m not sure Beard is the answer at all now…..I suspect that the decision makers at IU will feel the same…I doubt that McDermott or Stevens would come…..Otzellberger…hire him..

if you know Mike then you know he doesn't care about the the money.. he's worth about 25 mil. .. he will finish his year out take his year's salary and leave. He has always wanted what is best for the program, which is to keep the seats full.. fans.. as well as the players are not the same as they were years ago.. unless you are coaching in the Ivy league the "student athlete" is a thing of the past.. College Ball has become a dress rehearsal an audition for the big Leagues.. and every fan is a Coach/AD and know more than those in either profession. After he heard the chants of "Fire Woodson" during the Illinois home game in the Hallowed Arena of Assembly Hall I'm sure he was ready to resign after the game... The hoosiers were 13 - 5 at that point.. 13-5 and you chant to have the coach fired on national TV, Well now everyone gets what they want, I'm sure Mike is hurt and disappointed in the season as well but relieved that it is coming to an end.. just like the fans that wanted him fired. I am glad that he made the decision to step aside and i am very happy for him and Terri Next Game up is Michigan at home, this is a winnable game.. I hope the teamplay is above average and that they follow the game plan to the letter.. it's a strong possibility they will pull this one out for Coach.. and maybe the fans will chant who his replacement will be.. it will be on national tv. Chris Beard is a great coach who has done some questionable things. I like Brad Brownell at Clemson better. They have slipped a little this year, but it is soooooooooooo difficult to get top basketball talent to come to Due West, South Carolina. Not so at Bloomington.

your basketball acumen is lacking. you're not getting the ball in the middle of the syracuse 2-3 and feeding zeller that way. why in the hell do you think they were playing the 2-3 to begin with? to take zeller out. everything crean had the team do against zones was all wrong. jamming it into the middle for zeller was not the answer. you can't just say the words, "get the ball in the middle" and make it happen.. it's like a defense puts 9 in the box to stop taylor, and you saying, "hand it off to taylor. hand it off to taylor". scheme, tactics, and angles matter.

Just because Beard’s wife dropped abuse charges doesn’t mean that nothing happened. It is very common for abused women to do this because they are unable to gain control over their emotions and lives due to this abuse. More vetting is needed to even consider Beard.
